Hunted: Part 1 - Pg 27
Nepath on April 26, 2010
I will try to bring you the final few pages to this part as soon as I can so this may not be the only page that you get this week, but no promises.
At this point it has only been mentioned with no real detail but anyone reading have any thoughts on what the Black Dawn facility might be?
Also…as this opening chapter is coming to a close. Who's side are you on? Energize or the HU Initiative?
As always - thanks for reading and commenting
Hope you like the page.

Arrogant s.o.b. I liked Energize in Crossoverkill, but this? I don't like him at all. Sorry, but so far i want HU to win. The Commander isn't stupid, she's at least partially on to Nemesis. it'll get sorted out. But this ultimatum is no good.

Thanks very much for all your comments they are much appreciated and confirm to me that I am doing what I hoped - which is to blur the line between Energize and the HU. @Wanttowrite: Yes - the title Hunted is intended for both ways as from here on out they are effectively hunting each other.

They dun dunit now!!!! I'm gitty with excitement.

I'm with Energize by this much | |, but I'm with him. BTW would it be wrong to think the title "Hunted" suits HU more than Energize at the moment.

I don't whose side to be on! (definitely not Nemesis') How dare you confront me with a morally gray conflict! :p

Thanks for making the HU Commander much more recognizable.

Ooh, someone's gone BAD! I still haven't read the whole story from the start - so this one's a bit of a shocker, but I like that. It gives the series a nice twist. The story gets interesting when there's no clear way of telling who's good or bad.

hmm, interesting

Ouch. And here I thought merely de-powering heroes was bad. This is super-villain territory. Even if this is resolved, Energize has crossed a line. At best, he's left a superhero comatose, and apparently intends to kill Nemesis before turning himself over to the authorities. At worst, he'll end up leaving dozens of superheroes comatose. Even his costume and aura are reflecting a more villainous nature on his part. To be fair, though, he does have good reason, and he did warn them back on page 22. If the HU Commander doesn't figure out that something doesn't add up here, then she's just too dumb to live. Unfortunately, if this is the case, she will probably end up taking the entire HU Initiative down with her. She already suspected that something was up with Nemesis, but took his word on what happened. She failed to do a basic fingerprinting on the murder weapon (which would have revealed Nemesis's lie), even though it didn't match Energize's attack method (why use a lamp when he could just zap her?). She's failed to make any attempts at a diplomatic solution and has handled this so badly that I can't help but wonder if she's intentionally sabotaging the HU Initiative. Could the commander be a villain in disguise?

Is the Black Dawn facility where the government has been creating ways to neutralise any HU members that go violently AWOL, like Big E here? Like Batman's ways to take down the JLA in the Elseworlds story 'The Key'... But yeah, I can still see where E is coming from, but he's going about it all wrong. As for HU, well they seem too stubborn and blind to see the truth - orders above all, it seems. I'm now undecided :P

No. This time, I don't side with Energize, especially not after seeing him threaten to do the same he did to Titan to everyone in his way. Sorry, that's not what a hero does. This is what a terrorist does. Period.
legacyhero at 6:43AM, April 27, 2010
It's obvious that The Commander isn't just gonna comply with Energize. It's not in her nature. I have no idea who to side with.
Ozmandious at 6:06AM, April 27, 2010
dun dun dunn
Hero at 3:28AM, April 27, 2010
I'm pretty much on everybody's side. 'Cept Nemisis'.
SoItBegins at 2:12AM, April 27, 2010
Whose side? Energize. He's got a right. Though, how he plans to deal with Nemesis when he finally finds out...
seanb47 at 11:30PM, April 26, 2010
I empathize with Energize but I think HU will pull the final cat out of the bag. They must have some sort of scientific way of keeping him under control.
Legend Comics at 11:15PM, April 26, 2010
Nah! I'm totally with Energize on this. Morals, shmorals. When you lose someone you love justice IS revenge! Almost any hero's origin story will tell you that.
DAJB at 10:44PM, April 26, 2010
Well, you'd have to say this was handled pretty badly by both Energize and HU. Neither side even attempted to listen to the other. On balance I'd probably say HU have the moral highground. But not by much!
Jules at 10:32PM, April 26, 2010
At this point I wouldn't mess with Energize. They'd be smart to just do as he suggests but something's telling me that they're not.
LuchaCoffee at 10:17PM, April 26, 2010
I don't know what side to choose, I understand Energizes need for vengance, but to do that to Titan...
