A Plan

I finished early, so here is a new page. There's one more page in this chapter, then it's on to Mr. 8, Silas and Jinn for a good dozen or more pages.
If you deem them worthy, Please vote for Engine, Hades or any of your other favorites, In the 2010 Drunk Duck awards. I believe the initial voting has begun. It would be cool for nominations, but even cooler for a duck award. I'll never win the Oscar, but I can win a Drunk Duck!! (which is much cooler than a stiff, naked golden dude.)

Well...last week, I was able to upload this page early.....this week, I am not so lucky. I'm working on the new page, but ran out of time because of that nasty thing called (the real work week....or...slaving for da man.) I will get the new page up possibly sometime Monday. Soon, it'll be action time again and robots will be flying freely!

Tharisfal... I should at least do the color for Blood Reign and Devil Jack. Superhero type stuff is made for color. I need to update that comic as well.....ugh. Not enough time!!!

vwyler- Wow...MS Paint huh? Your color is great and I am shocked you get that quality out of the older programs. Very cool!! I might have to try something like that.

Tim, I voted for Engine is several categories. Although Blood Reign and Devil Jack is my favorite of your books, Engine is great, too. You draw as well as any of the best guys out there... Lee, McFarland, Mignola... they got nothin' on you, Tyler. I don't use Photoshop, either. Can't afford it, can't understand it. I use Ms Paint and a photo touching program that came with my old printer. It's time consuming, but works. Anyway, Engine is fine in B&W.

I never mind when it comes to black and white or color (probably a side-effect of all the b/w mangas such as Beserk), and I can't imagine any sane person that would shy away from engine just because it's black and white. Color can add a lot of expressiveness but can also slow you down a lot. If you think it's necessary in order to better express Engine or if you think it will simply look better, then go for it. However if getting more views is your goal, weigh in carefully if frequenter updates or color would contribute more. I do not know what other people want from a comic, I know just what I want. I bet you've got quite a few readers, I'm just one opinion. You should get more.

Ok, let me ask you this...would you like to see Engine, "color toned" like Hades is? I think the b/w is hurting Engines page views and ranking. I would like for it to be color, since everything is designed to be colorful in Engine.....but I do not yet know how to use photoshop and layers. For some reason, I just can't seem to understand the steps involved, after I scan the art in. Would color be more to everyones liking?
Tharisfal at 6:26AM, July 7, 2010
That may be so, however I have yet to find a comic that's more visually pleasing then Engine and Hades. There are some full color comics that come to mind, but nothing in the black and white art section comes close.

I am just talking to myself as far as votes go. Please just vote for the things that make you smile or that you look forward to. I just mentioned voting, cause everyone else is. There's alot to pick from for sure.

I love both Engine and Hades, and I'd like to vote for them in multiple categories, though it's very though to decide because they're very similar when it comes to art style, and if your voters divide votes between the two that lessens the chance of you getting the award. Do you want us to vote for one or the other?

With pages like this, I wouldn't give up on that Oscar just yet! ;-)
