I always thought reading with someone you loved was incredibly intimate. Consider it the romantic in me. I imagine Kaanis doesn't have as much patience for reading as Raivyn does. Kaanis probably likes books about history and practical theory, and throws in science fiction every now and then for fun when no one is looking. Raivyn, however, reads everything voraciously, and will never admit to it, but has consumed every Jane Austen novel at least ten times a piece. But I bet they both enjoy H.P. Lovecraft. What sailor worth their salt does not?
On an art note… did you know I'm afraid of color? There's a reason my comic is in black and white. I am ridiculously timid with color. Which is funny because I adore rainbows and neons and all of the colors in my life. I'm just bad at expressing them, turns out.
Kaanis totally looks like he's showing off his guns (does anyone say "gun" when it's just one arm?). And thank all the gods that he doesn't have socks in those sandals!
So much personality summed up here. I think your use of color is really quite nice. I avoided color for the longest time too, but recently, I've been getting into it and enjoying the interplay between color and form. On the question from the previous page: For color work, I'm mostly using traditional gouache and poster color. (They're pretty similar and I use them interchangeably.) I like that you can use them really thin and watercolor-like or thicker and opaque. They dry fast and matte. Also, I like that you can let your palette dry and just re-wet the paints/mixes when you need them again.
Thanks for your kind words of support! =) I need gouache in my life. There is no doubt. Also, I would love to see your work! Do you have an instagram or something I can stalk you on?
