Ch. 1, Page 4. Introducing Mika and Miss Lily...

argh. i'm trying something new here and i need feedback.
screentones… i'm worried because i know some people don't like them. but if you read manga, you get used to them pretty quickly. i ALSO know that sometimes, when not used skillfully, they overload the picture and make it seem too busy. i hate that.
i'm not completely sold on them yet. i think they're an easy and pretty effective way to shade a page on the computer. i did do this page with graphic markers like i had been doing, but in the end i liked this version better.
tell me what you guys think! pleeeeeassseee and thank you?
i think i made mika's hair shorter than on the cover. oops. but other than that, i think this is a pretty good introduction to her character. she's just as sweet as pie…

Personally I prefer pencil-shading or digital-shading to screen-tones.. But when it's used for wallpaper like you did here, I'm okay with it. I'm just not a big fan of it. But I like your comic so far, can't wait for more! :D

Dear CaptainClover, I don't know much the art teck,I am just a beginner. I go more for Story/Plot. I like the way you going with this, a little background on the girls before they meet? I feel Ms. Lily does not want to let go! Change comming:) Tammy

screen tones are not bad, but it takes time to get used to them when you first start doing them. just draw and work, eventually they'll become better and better.
