Story Notes:
A decision is made and a paint is changed.
Development Notes:
I continued to add shadows to my characters. I like how it turned out.

D0m - Paint is a form of Heraldry, and is used to identify your class, your rank, your allegiance to a King, or display a sense of style. Must cultures have a similar Paint, to define what King they are under. To have the wrong Paint, brands the character as an outsider. This could be treated as a novelty, or up to a license to kill the character without consequence. Paint has it's privileges.
The Endless Kings started it when they used face paint to identify themselves as they body shifted. “Paint” acts like permanent tattoos except, it can be removed and changed, and does not fade or blur.
Ruun has declared he's no longer part of Finnegan, and will be harshly punished if caught.
Talekyn - Thanks. I got the paint box idea from 5th Element, one of the best movies ever.
joerocks1981 - I'm liking the way shadows are working out. Trust me, I want to get to space so bad! But the story must advance as it should. Maybe I'll start posting single illustrations of space shots.
Viceroy - According the internet, Saint Luke is the patron saint of artists. Seemed to be a good saint for a paint box company.
Ruun based his paint colors from his parents paint, as a homage to them. Glad you noticed.

trivia for the day; The Greeks had 4 elements... 4 essences, the combinations of which gave raise to all the other things. The Other one the Most essential one, the quintessence, was the philosopher's stone. The one that could change lead into gold. 3=tres, 4=quarto 5=quint, quint-essence; ... the 5th element

Seems that in Finnegan even Brand names are related to religion. The new paint of Ruun remind me to the paint that his parents had in the portrait, does this have any realtion with something on his past=?

i was about to note the Fifth Element reference. It's so good to see an update, and the addition of shadows is nice also. I was wary of it initially because of how much the base color really stood out against the gray, but... i must say that it does look amazing. let's get to space, already! :)

I love that quote. And the look of determination on Ruun's face. Nice touch with the box that both removes and adds paint -- makes the whole process more dramatic than if he had to wash it off and reapply by hand. Nice touch!

Symbolic, and very cool. I like it. What do paints mean to these people?
