No, I understand a comic not fitting in with a webcomic format because it was meant to be a print comic. That's my entire creative life online. Hell, I write graphic novels. Most of my comics are written in chapters for crying out loud. LOL. It's just that now I'm suffering through what most of my readers have suffered through with all of my comics: too few updates per week makes the comic move much more slowly then the average webcomic (which updates 3 or more times a week) making it hard to keep and hold a readers interest by comparison OR get to the plot conclusion they're waiting for. Aw I remember this Glenn scene in the Walking Dead. I had the same reactions as yours. How I hated all that waiting. The problem in my comic is, it was meant to be only printed, without an online version. The conclusion of this scene is in the same chapter, not in the next issue, but the online pace broke it. That's the reason I'm talking with my editor about 48-page issues instead a 22-page standard. I want an interesting cliffhanger for the reader, not a 22-page-almost-nothing torturing system. and it's my second reason to create online exclusive stories separated from print version stories. I'm not comfortable with this pace too. OR, I wait the print version and post everything at once online, but I'd face another problem. Some readers fell overloaded when a creator upload many pages at once. It's hard to please everyone XD

...I was done with "Walking Dead" because I didn't care anymore. I'm afraid the same thing is happening with your comic. Which is a shame because it's so damned good. You've obviously missed my point. If she turns out to have been raped (and I'm hoping not) and she just shakes if off, if she has been raped (and I'm hoping not) and she doesn't end up crying endlessly in the shower because she just can't get "clean", if she has been raped (and I'm hoping not) and she doesn't end up on some therapists couch somewhere trying to deal with the trauma, then yeah, she's a badass, but she's also as human as Arnold in The Terminator. Meaning she's not. Honestly? This potential rape and waiting to see it's resolution has been such a shock to the system to me that it's totally taken me out of any other aspect of this comic. Just like when asian character Glenn fell into the mass of zombies on "Walking Dead" a couple of years ago and they took almost a month so side stuff before they told viewers if he was dead or not. I stopped caring. I stuck around long enough to find out what happened to Glenn and when I eventually did find out...

I know victims too, close people to me, men and women. I know it's hard for the victims, mainly because I support them in an intimate personal level. Back to the story, some readers had different reactions, and some of those reactions surprised me, mainly from women. Some of them saw it as an another type of beating, while other readers see the trauma in other perspective. I thought I would see a fight between the readers at some point. "You know what, her "badassness" depends totally on YOU. If she's unfazed by what I hope she ends up being rescued from then she's a badasss" I can advance it. She will respond to the adrenaline at first, but she will show the results of it. Like Ricci said, she will be tied to him until the end of her life. It will have an (heavy) impact on her decisions later. (I didn't receive the notification of your comment before o__o Sorry I'm late with the answer!)

...Honestly? I've had a hard time sleeping the last few nights trying to get this out of my head. It was hard for me when the comic didn't update yesterday because I HAD TO KNOW what happened to Cyrenna. My feelings are actually hurt FOR HER. You know what, her "badassness" depends totally on YOU. If she's unfazed by what I hope she ends up being rescued from then she's a badasss--But she's NOT HUMAN. She's an emotionless machine if she can just pick herself up, dust herself off, and say, "Lets get back to work". Rape doesn't wash off in the shower and you're all better afterwards. Some women NEVER get over it. EVER. I have a friend who was date raped in college and she said two things to me about rape that I've never forgotten. One, she said after you've been raped, even if you come out on the other side of it and can rebuild your life, you lose something because you're never not raped from that point on. To illustrate the point, she said that every time her husband touches her in a sexual way she has to remind herself that it's not "him". And it's been more then 10 years since her assault...

You know I won't show the explicit graphic scene ;) It's safe to read it with your eyes opened. But I'm curious to know what the reader thinks of Cyrenna now. Before, people said she was badass, but after being beaten and now that... Some people judge rape victims as weak. Is she still a "badass" for those people? Don't know. I'd love to hear something about that. (Yeah, it was a hard scene to add. I talked with many writers before keeping this scene in the GN.).
