I Play In Your Innocence!

I honestly try very hard not to think about where my artistic inspiration and fascinations come from. Not only because I'm somewhat afraid of my own thoughts in some ways, but because I feel that if I were to think more about it, I'd interrupt something of what makes my work mine. Art is kind of a reflection of the person creating it. Especially in comics, because they tend to merge our interests in subject matter, with our attitude and the things we like to look at. It's occurred to me lately that looking at a person's comic is in someways like looking at their journal. Now, what that says about my journal is indeed a very scary thing I suppose. And in some ways, writing each news post for Last Words is in it's own way very much a journal as well as a humor column ( I'd never have thought that I'd find myself so enamored of the art of writing. I blame my current English professor. ). I've really come to enjoy it, even if it means I end up staying way past my bedtime typing away.
In other news, I have three pieces of news. I have received the first of the shirts I ordered to test out and I will be giving it the special art student/member of the male sex treatment. I've heard it's supposed to be raining this upcoming Wednesday which works out just perfectly as I also have art classes involving printing ink and outdoor sculptures. So hopefully by the end of next week with finals over and everything I'll be starting to set up the store and get designs ready for you guys to get your hands on.
The second piece of news as you may have already guessed is that after this next weekend, I should be resuming my daily 7 days a week update schedule. Which means more comics from my hyperactive little ( Ok, they're not so little really. ) hands for you guys!
Lastly, it has been decided by myself and a good friend of mine ( Which means she decided and I just said “ok.” ) what the characters of Last Words are. They have been christened, rather accordingly to their original inspiration: Chicles. She decided on this after finding out the root word for chiclets was chicle, which is apparently some kind of gummy tree sap. That works for me. Now I'm hoping she'll take the gun away from my head and let me get out of my chair. Because this post is already hideously long, and I need to get a towel to clean up a mess I've made.

Eek! Is he giving me the bird? All throughout high school and the start of college, I used to write a blog. I stopped eventually, but now I work on webcomics. I prefer webcomics because they include a visual medium instead of a wall of text and are conscientious of its readership instead of completely self-absorbed.
