Just today after 154 comics I finally ran out of pieces of illustration board to make comics on. So I switched to bristol board because I had some sitting around unused. I messed around a bit and played with some different tools like a brush pen on this one since the bristol board has an extremely different feel to it and I wasn't sure it would turn out that well. I kind of like the way it turned out, despite the weird feeling of the board throwing me off my game a bit. Although, at the moment I've got enough painkillers in my system to get even Jerry Louis stoned a couple times over ( If you don't know who Jerry Louis or the Grateful Dead are, I strongly suggest you either get some hippy friends or open a book. ) So I've got a good few Ibuprofen in me because it's looking like I'm going to have some wisdom teeth coming out soon, and as a result I'm not quite sure if that hand is proportional, but I'm thinking that it looks pretty good for a quick experiment. Which is more than enough for me to say I'm happy with it.
Otherwise, testing continues on the shirt I have, and so far the results are looking good. The shirt is holding up remarkably well to my abuse ( Which mind you is rather legendary. ). I went rolling around in the mud this afternoon, just prior to taking a lovely jaunt through one of my local creeks. And while I'm honestly not exactly sure whether those were mosquitoes or pterodactyls I encountered out there, it was a rather lovely experience. It's been a good long while since I've been able to just blow off working for a bit and just simply take a walk. And I really have to say that I miss being able to just do nothing. It honestly seems like we all miss out on so much of life because we're constantly doing something, whether it's working, watching TV or some other activity that is really more intended to waste time than anything else. So it was a great experience to act like a little kid playing in the creek, even with people staring at me because a grown adult isn't supposed to be rolling in the mud.
I say, the hell with them and their stares. I'm here to live life and just enjoy the world around me instead of staring at some screen. Speaking of which, the pterodactyls are inviting me over to watch a movie on their big screen.

Don't tell me that's an actual drawing of your real hand! It mimics the creation of Adam fresco of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel. If that was the case.. then you made yourself god (of the comic). Damn me and my formalist reading of random images. Funny thing is, I used to always draw on Bristol. I thought it was better for the amount of ink I was using for the pages.. this all changed, however, when I moved abroad and couldn't find affordable bristol anywhere. I'm currently using these file divider page inserts that were probably never intended for comic art but they're so inexpensive and smooth, I have a hard time going back to bristol.

Jerry Louis? Jerry Lewis? Jerry Lee Lewis? So many ways to say crazy.
