In today's News

I had a rare bit of extra time over the weekend, which means I got to put more into my comics! And that's always awesome. It also makes me feel better about my work, since I like to expand and try some new stuff as often as possible.
It always seems to me like the news is telling us that something is horrific, vulgar, disgusting or cruel and then showing us the exact clip of video that they claim is objectionable and distasteful. While some might question why they feel the need to show us these things or even claim that it's all done in a god-less, money pandering attempt to gain attention and scare the public, those people would be wrong. The news media is in no way trying to scare us. They just want to inform us so we can be better citizens. And to become better citizens, we must know all about the type of hookers and crack dealers our leaders are seeing. If they didn't tell us, we would never be able to weed out the useless ones who can't lie and keep it quiet! Imagine a world where politicians didn't have the ability to lie about their last visit to their local opium den, or that they had never done any drug including marijuana, except for that one time, but they didn't inhale, and all while sitting calmly next to their wife. How horrible would that be? The public could be exposed to the disgusting seedy underside of our country in the most horrible and brutal of ways! (Senate hearings televised on C-SPAN killed 37 people of boredom last year alone. ) And so we have our news media, the righteous protectors of our national innocence, who bravely do their jobs of protecting our fragile minds to keep us with only the best and dishonest in Washington by exposing the ones we can't trust to lie to us properly and keep us happily content in ignorant bliss of our leaders secret fetishes.
Now, if you'll excuse me, Senator Liebermann's censorship bar is slipping, and I need to make sure we get it on tape for tonight.

I like how the Gumi anchor looks like he has a toupee. Censorship is one of the reasons why I appreciate the news outside of the United States. A few years ago, I spent Christmas morning watching footage on the war instead of the Yule Log burning.

Ever played Postal 2? Liebermann is a difficulty setting for that game. One of your mission objectives on Tuesday in the game is to get people to sign a petition that says "Make whinny congressmen play violent video games." Hilarious.
