The horrible horrible things they did...

I actually don't own an Ipod myself. I can't seem to justify spending $300 on a white piece of plastic that will, be eaten by the dog, crushed under a car, stolen by pygmy shrews living in my closet, etc. So I stick with my trusty old portable CD player that cost me absolutely nothing. And in the end it works out a lot better. While Ipods might hold a lot of music, so does my CD player; as many CDs as I care to try and carry on my person. And if I run out of pocket space, I can just grab a backpack and put them in there. Who cares about extra weight anyway? I figure that with that extra weight on my back I could soon put Mr. Universe to shame ( At least so far as gross tonnage goes. He'll always be able to snap me like a pencil. ). And as far as durability goes, I doubt the Ipod could ever beat my CD player. I've run it over with the car, dropped large magnets on it for long periods of time, dunked it into water and even dropped it off a 15 foot tall ( That's about a little under 5 meters for those of you using that wacky metrics system! ) retaining wall. In fact, just about the only thing an Ipod can do that my CD player can't, is play music. It makes noises perfectly well, just not ones you can understand. Not that such a thing deters me in any way whatsoever. After all, when I'm in the car, nobody can tell the difference between my ska and the rap the white-wannabe-black guy next to me is playing. Besides, we're not playing our music loud so you can understand it, anyway. We just play it loud like that because it's cool.
Right?

True that. I have a Ipod, but I think the summer heat in my backpack killed it....

well... anyone who does have an iPod, knows what happened when the chicklet got his "battery recharged"! ouuch! The best part of this, is he's telling it to the ipod. I don't know why that strikes me as funny... but it does.

That would be one heck of a charge. Poor little guy. I used to say the same thing about my CD Player three years ago when I noticed everyone on campus had their own iPod. In fact I used to carry around a whole backpack of CDs just to listen to my favorite mixes all day long. The amount of batteries and skipping on tracks while walking on stairs never bothered me one bit. However, one night I was procrastinating from studying for finals and filled out some campus survey and the next day my name was randomly picked out of a raffle and I won my iPod for free. I never leave home without it.

At one time I was somewhat interested in an Ipod. Now... I just make use of my PSP.. DS.. or cell phone if I *really* need my mp3's on the go.
