It is possible that both these dragons were impressionable little tykes. More likely is this: 1) Summer was unhappy, wanted a friend—not necessarily a dragon, 2) Her need was so strong that two dragons wanter her in return. All three of them seem to be perfectly happy with the situation. Remember, too, we do not know for a fact that only one dragon can link with a two-legs. We know only that we have never heard of a two-dragon impression. The two dragons likely can communicate with each other, and this can have some unknown benefits. We will see…

Eek! Two dragons? Xade: I don't really think this is like Anne McCaffrey. As Stardrake says, Impressing two dragons was not possible in that setting.

Ah, but in the Pernese setting, the method of Impression was different. Fire lizard Impressing, by my judgement, was basically a telepathic bond between parent and hatchlings, which just got misdirected when a human was nearby. That was modified a bit when Pernese dragons were created to make it more of a monogamous bond - I don't think they even managed to ever succeed in getting an ex-rider to impress a new dragon. And I can think of one reason at least to leave Impressing until puberty: If these dragons are anything like young Pernese dragons in this manner, feeding one, let alone two, on pocket money is not exactly going to be easy to do...

That could be awkward for the her and the dragons. She would have to keep schedule of which one she rode that day, so that she doesn't ride on to much and make the other jealous. It would probably be a big deal for them.

So they knew that she was going to be a dragon rider, it just wasn't supposed to happen yet. And not with two dragons. That should create some interesting situations. fantastic as always
