Using Karpy to get to Bowser's castle was my original plan too…then I went and messed things up by having Luigi trade Karpy to Ruto for Dialga (when he then traded away for Weedly).

I used to feel bad that I had designed Bowser's castle to be tiny and purple, but then I realized that Ganondorf doesn't have a castle or fort or anything. He sold it all when he tried to be a good guy.
