Gluss was originally supposed to be more of an archer, and was also black in the original version. Darius, also, was originally a guy, but was changed when I saw one of Ava's sketches of Darius as a woman. I was not used to the Mentor archetype being a woman. Plus, her interactions with Maria would be a little different and more
sibling-like. Darius is one of my favorite character designs, and I like her various costumes (plus she has a cool 10 year old version that
will show up in a future story). There is a really cool poster image Ava doodled of Darius in both her costumes, and I really hope to make
that into a mini-print or poster sometime in the future.
