Chapter One- Page 24

I know many of you weren't expecting this. I love how the painting came out, though. The blues in the forest along with the pink and the blood does something to this page… Thanks for reading Nadya- you'll be getting explanations soon, and maybe you'll find out what Charna planned on saying!

Well, of course they had to get Charna out of the way. They then need to convince Nadya that Charna was going to teach her the ways of the Dark Side of the Force and that they, the Henchmen, are in reality the WhiteHats (as opposed to the AssHats) and thereby should be trusted. Remember, they were instructed to NOT HARM THE REBORN! So. There you have it. A nice neat little package!

I guess I can rule out the possibility of those new characters being Nadya's new friends.

OK, so at last I got here :) I read it from start to finish and I loved it. The subject matter itself is what tiggers like best! In fact, when I hear "afterlife" - I'm all ears. I've pondered on the concept many times, and envisioned many different worlds, with differents rites of passage. Yours is different from my ideas, and perhaps that's why it intrigues me so much - because I'm trying to figure it out. I'm pondering on the significance of the titles: Nadya being a Reborn and Charna being an Immortal - in the context of the former dying and initially assuming to be in some sort of afterworld, and the latter getting killed on this very page. One of my theories is that neither really died. It looks like Nadya was transported to some other dimension - a thing that is most likely something out of the ordinary, since she is referred to as Reborn, ergo, something special. I think the scene of them passing the bridge supports my theory: the scenery changes, as if the dimensions were fluctuating; a phenomenon the everyman shouldn't witness. Which brings me to another question: where do mortals go? And is the thing that happened to Nadya somehow related to her being an elf - a creature that according to mythologies is in fact immortal? Charna bears that title in the "afterworld". What does that make her? And I wonder if the world they came to in the last three pages is the world Nadya lived in, previously, or yet another world. If she is, in fact, reborn? If that's so, if Charna was killed in this world, did she go back to the afterworld? Or was she transported to yet another dimension. Or am I just silly? :) I tend to think I'm not very smart, sometimes I can't add two plus two. Makes me wonder how I understand the minutiae in my own comic :P As for the artwork - you've progressed from GOOD to BRILLIANT. You've been doing a beautiful job with the colors from the start. SilentKitty's input did it well, too (I learned a thing or two from SK's tutorials, too). But the most amazing evolution was your lineart. For a dozen pages it was getting steadily better and better, and then - BAM! - page 12 came and I could hear my jaw hit the floor. And page 24 was a beautiful cherry on top of this delicious cake. I'll comment on some things on the relevant pages in more detail when I'm done writing this. Favorite scenes, lines, some observations, some hints, maybe a few words of advice. Just wanted to let yo know what I think on this page, so that you know I checked your comic - and truly loved it! Can't wait to read more.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! PIT_FACE- Great reaction, haha Morphmaker- Maybe I topped page 13! Midge28- You're the best! Redemption- You're too kind, hehe... thank you. Tantz Aerine- You'll learn that Charna won't do anything easily. :-) Simonitro- Welcome, and thanks for going through the archive!
simonitro at 12:08PM, Oct. 14, 2007
OH MY GOD! CHARNA! Oooh, that is brutal! I read through your archive and I must say, this comic is so friggin' amazing! The art, story, and others are simply breath taking! Every page seems like a masterpiece! Keep up the good work and good luck!
Tantz_Aerine at 11:16AM, Oct. 14, 2007
Ouch! That is one really blunt and quick (and therefore realistic) way to deal with a character that is obviously potent. But I do hope Charna doesn't die that easily. I really like her too much to see her go. (Though I'm not one to talk, seeing as I am guilty of the above in my fantasy books...) Well done! It is really graphic and it is not easy to do this with a silhouette.
Redemption at 10:12AM, Oct. 14, 2007
VERY nice. I love this action scene - it was certainly unexpected for me! Great backgrounds - though that's nothing unusual in Nadya so far. :D
TheMidge28 at 9:55AM, Oct. 14, 2007
well done...didn't expect it and the first panel is so dramatic in the pose of the fall and the burst of the shot...really love the other panels as well...Nadya's expression is wonderful...shocking!
