#20 Imagine That.

The first official appearance of the oft-mentioned Magic Space Ducks! I added the â„¢ for extra commercial silliness of course. Even their request for help sounds like a pitch for merchandise! Ah, how i miss the duck-themed cartoons of the 90's and 80's…half the cartoons on TV these days are garbage. It's gotten to the point where I really don't care what happens to the characters on the screen anymore, let alone buy their crappy toys…there's a serious lack of good character designs lately. I can watch a half-hour toy commercial if the writing is decent and the characters are interesting to look at, but it's been a long time since there's been a show like that. I blame Flash for dragging animation into the gutter…you'd think with all the time and money they are saving on animation, they'd use that to get some decent writers and artists. Instead we got flat, jerky, screaming annoyances. Really, what's with the constant screaming?!
I just really miss classic Looney Tunes. *sniffles*

Classic Johnny Quest IS awsome, but that new one wasn't nearly as cool IMO.
Razzy Jazz at 1:24PM, Feb. 26, 2008
She's so cute! She looks really really human, compared to a lot of her classmates. Dude, one of the best cartoons ever: Johnny Quest. (He was my first crush when I was REALLY little!)
Red Slayer at 12:27PM, Feb. 26, 2008
NO ONE CAN RESIST THE MIGHT OF THE SPORK!
Erk at 12:19PM, Feb. 26, 2008

Dragonizer at 11:56AM, Feb. 26, 2008

Well, I suppose we just have to face that cartoons have moved on. Or we can just all go fish through the bargain bins looking for old Looney Tunes episodes on VHS :D! Great page BTW!

Spider-man is coming though! There's a glimmer of hope! (not much, but a bit of one.)

If anyone is currious where they came from the Magic Space Ducks first appeared here in School Nights. Later on the got their offical name in this issue. Also Sybil first uttered her catch phrase "Waah! Scary!" in this issue. That is the nice thing about School Nights is we can feel free to try things out before making them an offical part of the series. A lot of elements of Night School started off as just a random idea in the fan comic. If anyone is interested in drawing an issue of the fan comic please PQ me and I'll be very happy to send you a script.

ER, sorry for the second post. But I too, miss the awesome 90s cartoons. The cartoons now, are just stupid..I personally miss the classic episodes of Rugrats. And the classic ninja turtles.
Onasaki at 8:14AM, Feb. 26, 2008
WOOT! I came up with a theme song for Magic Space Ducks. XD I'd sing it..But..No. No one wants that. XD
bobby_the_kid at 5:57AM, Feb. 26, 2008

*pets* poor Amy... Need hugs? We have them in great supply. That's a child who would be eviscerated under my watch... But I have a severe dislike of sharp objects going anywhere near my eyes
