News:
Ah, I’ve just updated Pink Skin, my Pinky TA spin-off comic.
Page description:
Pinky and her S.S.V.5 (special scout vehicle, version 5), are lowered over the side of the ship into the choppy sea. Although it has calmed down a little since the cruiser was sunk. The S.S.V.5 sinks and reveals its nature as a submarine…
At the same time, Cc and Captain Rasovich are discussing things together. A bit later Cc goes over the side too, be she’s swimming! Pinky is going to use the time profitably to formulate a good plan of attack. Like all clever people she waits until the last minute to finish things of. ^_^
Commentary:
This page has got some nice looking panels, but they’re all a bit small. I was trying to make up for the slowness of my storytelling here by packing a lot of stuff into one page. Maybe I overcompensated? The interior of the S.S.V.5 was a bit of a challenge to do, I had to work out what levers and dials it needed and where I wanted to put them. It’s a very complicated layout for a very complicated machine! You have to realise that it’s meant to be old fashioned 1920’s tech, but also a pretty amazing hi-tech piece of gear. It has no LCD screens, readouts, HUDs, or computers, just levers, switches dials, lights, fuses, and a compass. As well as some mirrors that double as protective folding shutters.
Ahhh, Cc looks like she’s eating Rasovich’s moustache! Zoe pointed that out last time, and it still looks that way. ^^
Writer's challenge!
We’ve started up a weekly writer’s challenge in the forums. Each week writers try writing a short fanfic based on the characters of a DD comic we choose for that week. The first comic is Two Moons. See the details and entries here. It’s a fun way to practise your writing ^_^
A note:
Go to my main site for the latest work (27th January, 2006). I’m uploading one page a day with commentary and explanations here.

Yay! This page is so full of stuff! And as always your backgrounds and colouring utterly amaze me.

In the 3rd panel, it almost looks like she's eating his moustache :P

Love how you drew and colored the scout's cockpit. And, the water effect are pretty nice too.

I kind of like the idea of a 1920's minisub/mech

I still stand by my belief that you must have been born in a cockpit to draw those so well... I mean... all those details! My head spins like a carrot... I mean... ... I dunno what I mean, but that must be proof of the spinning part at least.

Also, the smallness works fine.

This bodes...

CC up to something always gives me a nasty feeling in my guts, and it sure as hell ain't curry.

leaving her alone is madness
coinilius at 9:06PM, Jan. 30, 2006
Hmm, that's some tasty moustache :P Panel two is gorgeous. This page does indeed have some very nice panels, even if they are on the smaller side :)

The first time I read this, I thought the mustache in the third frame was a cigarette. BUt that's because I'm blind. I can feel the weather through your backgrounds! Weeeeeeeeeeee
