News
The NEW writer’s challenge is for the hilarious Slither and friends. Post your fan-fic entries here. Come on, participate. It’s fun!
I’m the only one who’s written an entry so far and it’s pretty damn funny, let me tell you. I haven’t laughed so hard since the last time I wrote something that funny…
Page description:
A receptionist is at her desk, signing papers. As the light of an open door falls on her face, she notices the entrance of a visitor. She feels so strongly about the intrusion that she starts up rather violently from her seat behind the desk. –Copy and pasted yet again. It’s more fun talking about the older pages than the new stuff.
Oh yeah, one other thing, that’s ink spilled all over a page in the last panel ^_^
Commentary:
Ok, this page looks generic. I thought it’d be a clever change to just go solid black with my line work, quite forgetting that my style was pretty cool as it was… There was originally not going to be any colour here, but it just wasn’t Pinky TA enough without it. Other people have super cool black and white work; just two examples are Coydog’s Arrowflight and Ruka E Poky’s Wasteland. Mine is not. The next couple of pages will ween of this black stuff if I can help it.
The paper with the ink all over it there is just a government document… For those interested, the text on the page really is from a French government document. It’s something boring about definition of definitions. That’s how authentic this stuff is. The thing on the wall behind the receptionist is some kind of French seal. I wanted to put the Tunisian coat of arms up there, but it turns out they didn’t even have one until after this time (I should have used the symbol here), so I thought the French coat of arms would be an even better substitute, but it turns out the French haven’t had a coat of arms since the revolution!! (apparently) So I used the seal. It’s nice. All I needed was a good government wall decoration that wouldn’t be totally out of place, I shouldn’t have had to go to so much trouble! :(
Writer's challenge!
The Pinky TA fan-fics that were done as part of the writer’s challenge were brilliant! Read them! This weeks fan-fic is Slither and friends, here. It’s pretty interesting, the entry I did for it is so funny it’ll make you crap yourself.
A note:
Go to my main site for the latest work (10th February, 2006). I’m uploading one page a day with commentary and explanations here.

Inkishly beautiful!
Green_Tangerine at 11:24PM, Feb. 24, 2006
Too bad they didn't have white-out back then... She's made quite the mess.
ccs1989 at 7:26PM, Feb. 24, 2006
Thanks CCS. This page is a bit more like a page of Assassin Assassin actually. ^_^
Comparing my stuff to yours? I'm both honored and amused at the same time.

Thanx so much Alej, Amelius, Crazzyduck, Jon, Sarah, Sub, Kyupol, Chewdy, Ham! Yep Amelius, you come of like a suck-up. Hahaha, no, of course you don't! Thanx for that ^_^ Ah, I got too far into the black Alej. I got sucked into a dark black endless pool of it and now it has infected my blood... Hopefully that'll all bleed out in the next two pages. Fingers crossed The arses are comming up Sub! ^^
alejkhan at 9:23PM, Feb. 22, 2006
whoa, inking! Black everywhere! This person looks very pretty. I love her white eyes. And the suggestive pooling of black ink.... Just a wonderful page, even if it isn't so much within the old painty style of before.
Amelius at 8:59PM, Feb. 22, 2006
Absolutely perfect lighting, and well, everything! Sometimes I can't think of the best thing to say about these pages though, they're so awesome I'm at a loss for words ^_^ (hope I don't come off sounding like a major suck-up T_T)
crazyduck at 5:52PM, Feb. 22, 2006
I likes the lighting.
Jon Hanson at 7:36PM, Feb. 21, 2006
I love it! Incredibly cinematic.
SarahN at 4:00PM, Feb. 21, 2006
This page is really nice...cool angles and lighting.
subcultured at 3:32PM, Feb. 21, 2006
wooo i thought someone else drew this page. I do like the inking, but its not recognizable as ozone-esque ^_^ put some asses in there so i know it's you
Hamorhage at 8:19AM, Feb. 21, 2006
No more daily updates :'(
chewdy at 8:46PM, Feb. 20, 2006
This is actually my favourite page in all of Pinky! As an inking fan I just love to see so much blacks. :P
Ozoneocean at 4:11PM, Feb. 20, 2006
Ha! Thanx Chis and Whirly! Haha Chris, that's what my most of the Pinky TA stuff would look like if I used black instead of grey to do the lines and left out the colour. So it's a good example of my simple linework...

no update today folks! Sorry guys, I canât draw that fast, so thereâre no updates until I do the next page. Weâre caught up now! Iâd love to make two pages a week, itâs an objective Iâm going to try for. Iâm going to attempt a schedule of sorts. Updates every Tuesday and Friday? Donât hold me to it yet⦠Iâll try to have an update ready for Thursday. Responding. Sorry Magical, thereâll be no Pinky TA after this either until I finish the next page. Donât worry, itâs almost 100% but I have to write up notes for my class this week so my students have something to do⦠Hahaha, well spotted Coin. Ah, whatâs this âdrag queenâ thing? We all know the best woman is a man! Just joking, thatâs very Shakespearian actually⦠Coin and Ham: The style will blend back to the usual, I through it would suit the action on the page. Thatâs right Ham, sort of a Manga, quick action kind of thing. The next two pages continue this thing, but less jarring. Thanks Hawk! ^_^ Too bad I canât continue to provide you with that⦠:( Iâm just too slow a worker. But I will try for 2 updates a week. Thanx Strongbad. Ha! Thanks Polar. The ink is something I just had to do ^^ You can see a black and white version of it in the preview for the black and white Drunk Duck templates. Sabotage of paperwork is the mission for ALL of us Bobo ^_^ Thanks Ruka ^^. But the level you get with BW is way in excess of what I can achieve. You have a lot more fun with it. I only get that kind of fun from my colour pages. Thanks Niel ^^. Hahaha! Itâs only subtle because the action happens so slowly. It takes me 70 pages to get to the point! Thanx Neil, thanks Rad, thanks Coy! Hahaha, ya I the to spill ink Iago, itâs not always as artistic as this⦠Thanks Kam, thanks Huntress. Thanks Barb! Sometimes I just let the grphic design bug free to do itâs thing. Itâs a constant war with it and the art bug. Thanks CCS. This page is a bit more like a page of Assassin Assassin actually. ^_^ Thanks Zac, thanks Glimmer. Itâs a bit of a prelude to sudden action. Ah, the words youâre looking for are âsepia toneâ Rad ^_^ Thanks. Hahaha, thanks Spaz, it took a while to get those eyes right. They just didnât want to work out properly for some reason. Thanls Hero. Well the seal about her was a bit easier because itâs based directly on a real thing. I donât have to be too clever with it or make anything up. Thanks again Ham ^^ Ah, thee style wonât stay this way. The normal style works too well as it is. Thanks Joff. Thanks Mazz! Well with the ink spill Iâm just going for the same effect as the classic blood spill. Those are great for transitions in movies.
chrisj at 3:50PM, Feb. 20, 2006
Good work, though it does look like it's by a different artist.
Whirlwynd at 3:48PM, Feb. 20, 2006
Curious - I like the stark lines on this, makes it feel sharp.
Mazoo at 1:26PM, Feb. 20, 2006
She's got purrrrdy eyes. I really love your ink spill! The ink looks so intense and slimy, and I like how it looks like it's actually moving! One of my favorite things in art is to capture movement. Still things are boring. ;)
Hamorhage at 10:39AM, Feb. 20, 2006
btw dude I meant tahtw ith the biggest respect. Everything you touch is magic, just funny to see your style coming along. This is one of the things I lke on the Duck, I think every artist has a huge development stage on the Duck..untill we are pros..I hope :)
Hamorhage at 10:36AM, Feb. 20, 2006
If I wouldn't know I went to Pinky TA I wouldv not guessed it was your work. You probably came to the limit how you could make your comics look real...I mean baby...Pinky Ta was starting to look like artworks from historical times...But all of a suden you broke things down to this super clean and slick pinky-meets-manga work! I'm all for it, I just hope it stays Pinky and doesnt turn into a quick action manga page turner.
Hero at 10:18AM, Feb. 20, 2006
It's always weird to see people draw ink spills. Her face and the logo-coat of arms thing above her head look quite amazing.
spaz at 9:45AM, Feb. 20, 2006
I was going to say bueatiful eyes, but that leaves out everything else that is bueatiful.
Radmetalmonk at 9:32AM, Feb. 20, 2006
btw, nice us of the "vintage colors" you know, that brownish bronze and grays.
glimmer at 8:27AM, Feb. 20, 2006
that looks way cool and so omminus
zactheninja at 8:18AM, Feb. 20, 2006
I do like this style stuff here. Great job
ccs1989 at 7:11AM, Feb. 20, 2006
This is my favorite page so far. Such a great subtle color scheme combined with interesting camera angles...just awesome.
