The NEW writer’s challenge is for the hilarious Slither and friends. Post your fan-fic entries here. Come on, participate. It’s fun!
I’m the only one who’s written an entry so far and it’s pretty damn funny, let me tell you. I haven’t laughed so hard since the last time I wrote something that funny…
Page description:
A receptionist is at her desk, signing papers. As the light of an open door falls on her face, she notices the entrance of a visitor. She feels so strongly about the intrusion that she starts up rather violently from her seat behind the desk. –Copy and pasted yet again. It’s more fun talking about the older pages than the new stuff.
Oh yeah, one other thing, that’s ink spilled all over a page in the last panel ^_^
Commentary:
Ok, this page looks generic. I thought it’d be a clever change to just go solid black with my line work, quite forgetting that my style was pretty cool as it was… There was originally not going to be any colour here, but it just wasn’t Pinky TA enough without it. Other people have super cool black and white work; just two examples are Coydog’s Arrowflight and Ruka E Poky’s Wasteland. Mine is not. The next couple of pages will ween of this black stuff if I can help it.
The paper with the ink all over it there is just a government document… For those interested, the text on the page really is from a French government document. It’s something boring about definition of definitions. That’s how authentic this stuff is. The thing on the wall behind the receptionist is some kind of French seal. I wanted to put the Tunisian coat of arms up there, but it turns out they didn’t even have one until after this time (I should have used the symbol here), so I thought the French coat of arms would be an even better substitute, but it turns out the French haven’t had a coat of arms since the revolution!! (apparently) So I used the seal. It’s nice. All I needed was a good government wall decoration that wouldn’t be totally out of place, I shouldn’t have had to go to so much trouble! :(
Writer's challenge!
The Pinky TA fan-fics that were done as part of the writer’s challenge were brilliant! Read them! This weeks fan-fic is Slither and friends, here. It’s pretty interesting, the entry I did for it is so funny it’ll make you crap yourself.
A note:
Go to my main site for the latest work (10th February, 2006). I’m uploading one page a day with commentary and explanations here.

Whoa... dude... for a second I thought I'd clicked on the wrong comic. Okae, so without it being a 'usual' Pinky page it's still freaking cool. I wish when I spilled ink it went in pretty patterns like that. But nooooo.

Them's some haunting eyes...

There's a subtleness to your work that makes me jealous.

First of all, Awwee thanks. I'm glad you like my black and whiteness. ^-^ Secondly, I don't know WHAT you're talking about, this page is gorgeous. I love it to bits. The inking (and ink!) look fantastic. Very stylized. And the colour with the black lines really looks unique. Her eyes are SO sexy. Nice work with this! It's really good.

Damn! Now all that wonderful paperwork is ruined! Was that CC's mission? To sabotage the paperwork? I bet it was. Nice splatter effect. I always love a good splatter.

I love this page...but the third and fifth panels are definately my favourites! The woman's eyes are gorgeous, just from the two panels of her face she seems sexy and powerful and confident...just from the eyes. Wow. The ink on the paper looks extremely real, like if I were too touch my computer screen it would be wet. I almost half expect it to drip down the screen!

I agree with everything Hawk just said!

Man, after a long day of doing stuff, looking at your Pinky TA pages is like dessert. Thanks for always being so devoted and making something beautiful.

Oh my, quite the change in style - it looks quite nice, I have to say, but the regular Pinky style is so much more interesting, IMO. From what we can see of the woman's face, though, she looks a lot more refined and less 'drag queen' like, as Pinky and Cc have a tendency to look every now and then. The style of this page is way to jarring, though - it's like a page out of a different comic entirely. Made more so by the fact that it isn't even a new 'chapter' or anything like that. The fourth and fifth panels look really good though - the entire thing would have worked in black and white, as well.
