Gah! Delay… T_T
Sorry guys, I should have started the next page earlier… It's just dull.
OK, here's a pic that's inspiring it at the moment. It's a silhouette of the US WW2 battleship Pennsylvania as she leads the American battle line into the greatest sea battle of modern times: Leyte Gulf.



This pic is awesome in the full version with the other ships behind, but still pretty cool here too. That thing is like a ziggurat, it's literally a floating fortress. The best part is the figure of a little tiny man, standing almost completely unsupported on a little platform on the starboard side. Really gives you a good idea of the scale.

Page description:
They burst through the windows of the palace and out onto the street. Pinky tests out the Tromper's battle weapons as she clears a path to the sea. Coming suddenly upon a tank, she cracks it open with a well placed rocket, while Ace seems to be more focused on shooting up the buildings. Down at the canal Ace roasts a fleeing group of soldiers, to Pinky's dismay. And finally, they step over the side and into the water.

Commentary:
Two week delay on this one! I'm very sorry about that. There were a few reasons for it. My sister was visiting, I was feeling quite low about my work generally, and this page was quite difficult to visualize, since all the fancy action stuff that drives it AND defines most of the colouring and lighting wasn't going to go on until the very final stage, so it was tricky drawing and colouring a whole page around imaginary special effects. Hahahaha! But it DOES look better when it's done that way, even if it is harder. -putting mocked up effects in as placeholders doesn't achieve the same result in the end I find.

And vote using the Top Web comics button to see how this looks in line art without the added colour. This one is so bare bones it's ridiculous! But at least you see more detail in the case of the crispy troops.
