I know the joke was kind of lame but it was either that or nothing. Also I'm sorry if some of you don't even get the joke. It doesn't really make sense unless you've seen Fullmetal Alchemist, but again it was that or nothing. Basically that wierd thing on the far right is the younger brother of the guy in the middle. His name is Alphonse. Al is dead and his brother, being an alchemist, transmuted his soul into a suit of armor. One of the creatures on their world is a chimera which is a creature made up of lots of other creatures or in some cases humans and animals. This is strictly forbbiden. The guy in the middle is Edward Elric. Together they are the Elric brothers and Ed has a height complex about how short he is.

Ed is sort of a hot-headed guy and Myth is more of the cold calculating type since she's usually up against people who are bigger and stronger than her and so she learned the hard way that if she loses her temper like ed she'll be beaten to a plup.

At first I was going to do a simplified version of ed thus his head is a circle and then after I inked it and before I drew in the face I realized that I wanted to do him realistic after all but didn't feel like redoing it.

Originally I really wanted to do this page in color using studio marker but it didn't really work out because I realized too late that I didn't have any of the colors I needed for Myth or Al. It's really difficult to blend colors with marker.

Next I tried colored pencil.
didn't work. The paper I used was for marker and was too smooth for the pencils to get any traction.

Next I tried watercolor.
didn't work. the paper you use for marker is really not absorbent because if it is it bleeds everywhere. the type of paper you should use for water color needs to me super absorbent so when I tested it the color came out all wierd and blotchy

Next I tried to photoshop it which also didn't work. In my idiocy I was still on comic drawing mode when I inked it so there was hatching that made it so I couldn't select large chuncks and couldn't color around it plus the cheap paper came out all bluish in the background.

I ruled out oil, acrilyic, chalk, pastel, and guache because I either didn't have it or it was opaque so it would cover up the lines, or in the case of oil would just destroy it. And so it came ot be that I just went back to boring old black and white. I really really wanted to do this in color for once, and I got frustrated enough that I just wanted to tear the -ing thing apart but I knew I'd regret that later since I started to figure out expression and body language on this piece and it really turned out well. So yes, that is my excuse for being late this week. Thanks for listening to me whine.

@Darkest1: No don't tell me Darren's friend– *gasp*!

Alexandera: I'm glad you liked my advice so much. Now if only I could remember what advice I gave you. Maybe I shoudl start going harder on you guys when I comment about art work.

Moonelfchick:I guess I'll be seeing you in heaven then if I get in too. You notice how my comments are getting longer and longer? I think it's because I know that some poor good soul will actually read them now. ^_^
