The vote count is released publicly after the event, Roy. If you think there's some fudging going on, ask your readers for a head count of who actually voted for you and see if it matches up. Suggesting that people only won by cheating is pretty harsh, and you can't back it up. If you keep going this route, you're not going to "bring the establishment to its knees;" you're just going to embarrass yourself and burn whatever few bridges you have left. ahhh, that's the real sad part of it! it's not that these are better comics it's just that they had every damn family member they could find sign up and nominate them. so is it based on real talent or just how favored and how many people who you can get to place false nominations!also elcid it was you who on this very page suggested i be nominated for said lame catagory! the lat time i went into my local comic store there was not any hard core porn comics for sale so lets not try to take it how marketable a comic is. the simple truth of the matter is that the site no longer cares about anything on it unless it's a favorite of the higer ups or it makes them money through ad's.the big difference between me and every body else on this site is i have the balls to call out people on the bullshit! if the site wants to ban me so be it i am out of here any way. but i will take the time to damage what little rep they have left in the world of comics at every chat room and convention i go to! the artist here do have a say since the site does make money off of ad space sold on thier pages. use your voice and boycott. remember you on the bottom have every thing to gain by protest. it's the ones at the top who will suffer if changes are made.if they wish to continue to profit off of your labor make them make the changes you want or leave them with a stale and empty talent pool.

@Pipo: Sadly in webcomics as in life, there is no reward for hard work. People reward you for giving them what they want; they don't necessarily care how hard it was for you to do it. That's why you can slave away for hours at a menial job and barely afford to keep up with your bills, while a drug dealer barely works at all but can afford a new car every week. That's life. Most comics creators draw comics for themselves first and foremost, and oftentimes what makes the creator happy is not necessarily something that many readers will find value in. Roy's work is beyond excellent, but it's always been problematic. Too vulgar for kids, but too throwback-cartoony for most adults. It's always going to be a hard sell, and those who aren't into it are just missing out!

Wow, Roy, you don't do anything in moderation, do you! I was definitely hoping you'd get more than one nom (and for a sexier category, as well), but this wasn't that unlikely of an outcome. Getting nominated is all about numbers, and in your case, you were up against some long odds. Really, the only category most people would have immediately slotted you for was Best Superhero, and that is a DEEP category. Very tough to get nominated for Best Superhero, especially when you don't have a ton of readers. How this didn't get a Best Parody nomination, I do not know. That's where running one of those For Your Consideration pages really comes in handy. It's no guarantee, but it would have helped. The work that goes into this comic really does stand out (and I look at a lot of DD comics), and it's everyone's loss that it won't be featuring more prominently in the awards this year. But I don't think you should take it as a "dis." You were up against stiff competition.

Roy seems it was already up (or in the display down) still all I can say on this is that I really appreciate all the effort you did for everyone here even if sometimes we didn't properly earn it. I appreciate all the spots you leave for discussion and the feedback you can give and while I'm a fan of your work, I know when to cut back and be objective to when something is out of place (to avoid the blind fan problems) as I mention on the give and take point (that is four). I know this is a free site but it doesn't mean that favoritism should be kept in but instead rooted out. Well now I'm really picking that liquor bottle I had around since this situation (with some others) really put me to analyze what I was writing and debugging for the "why is there no justice for hard work" rant.

Continuing on point 4: Where is the equal share? Roy has one of the more important cheeses to cut here and has got all the right to it. For more on this point a lot of the work that is done for the Awards only gets a comment there but no feedback to the original author of it in the rest of said author's comic. 5) What about the lesser known comics that keep on struggling to to update and all and don't receive any but ANY feedback? Roy is right on this one since seriously while I suggest this thing to people we receive no new feedback and no news due to statistics. Not to mention some of the comics once featured fall back into oblivion and a lot of newcomers get ZERO advice or comments most of the time (and sometimes some can be actually decent). Roy may take time to make an update and it is far more than most people invest on making 15 pages in terms of quality and work but Roy doesn't get that respect just what the hell DD and world... Time for that bottle...

Continuing point 2: Even if you are going with Gag a day then you must make sure all the characters are likeable and try to pull short arcs: if not check Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes. 3) Characters: Fleshing a character requires pros and cons and a lot of what I see around in many of the comics are needing to flesh things better (I know I've been in the low road before and Roy has pulled off some great characters in his runs, in case anyone wonders it is not to put two jerkasses and a target in a comic to make it fun). 4) Where is the non boot licking (or butt/ass if you feel like it) in community projects (I know that as one of the less known authors here and one with the most awful update schedules around can't expect much) where it is a give and take but a lot of people only take but don't give back. Seriously I've seen the top ten barely move in what 10 months (outside now of the awards being hardcoded on top)... don't take me wrong but why the heck is Persona 4TW on the top 10? No laughter involved... Put the ones that really bring the art and the stats properly. I mean seriously Roy has all the reasons and I'm doing a dumb move (and honestly I don't care if it is dumb now) via putting a lot of thoughts here: 1) Where is the love for the ones that take time and update with all that wonderful work? 2) Storytelling just tell me how many authors here have a solid grasp of it? I know I am still in diapers compared to other people (specially Roy, not bootlicking just going honest comparing what I put up compared to Roy) but a lot of the people in the list need to rethink to avoid a lot of plot holes (heck I ask people I trust on where the plot holes may be on how to fix them up)... more on part 3

I did in fact vote for you Roy (only the categories that aren't your call aren't there, namely 3d) and given some of my calls on how the system is in fact faulty and it needs a hand or two (if anyone ever saw why I quoted the FIFA's election of Diego Forlan for the Golden Ball, for more information go here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_World_Cup_awards long story short each voter had to put their three choices in order)... Seriously you could put that the statistics removal and the PQ notifications are two of the things I am (as many others I know) sore about since it facilitated a lot of things. p.s. fuck you for giving me a lame ass nomination and then asking me to work for the awards.you can shove your lame ass cock sucking awards straight up your ass! if the readers on this site have any balls left they will boycott the dd awards based on the fact that they are just hyping thier friends and screwing the rest of you.as of a matter of fact i think there should be another mass exodus of talent from this site. you know this site is screwing all of us when they won't even give you the ability to see your stats anymore. why? they don't want you to see that your comic gets more trafffic than the thier beloved top ten friends and to top it off they make money off of you and your readers with the ad's they place on your pages. fuck em!

i don't think you guys get it. i quit for real! i spend hours on the pages i post on dd.all i really wanted was a little rcognition for the art that i do and do for free and in the end the best i can get is a nom for most dedicated. my feelings were and are truely hurt,at least pam got a nod for catagory that some what relates to her comic.just because i don't kiss the ass of the people on dd and do every damn community project does not mean my work should be fucking slumped into a lame nom. this comic could have been in superhero,parody,comedy,back grounds and many other catagories and i would have been proud but nooooo, i get the catagory that elcid chose for me. how do i arrive at that last comment? because he posted the comment on this comics comment section that i should be nominated for that. so now he gets to choose what my readers and the awards should nominate me for. bullshit! i remember a time when he had very few readers and a couple of guys gave him an interview and hyped the shit outta him.you can call it sour grapes if you whish but i am sure judging by the comments section of the page that you guys are not commenting because you know i got screwed. i have always held my head high and tried to give my best in the worst of times and i have provided free promotion to tons of comics on here and i just tried to start a cover contest to try and help hype some of you. consider that canceled!!!!! over the next week i will start to delete my comics on this site. you will get nothing for free out of me ever again and i also plan to trash this web site at every convention i go to instead of hyping it like i have always done in the past. this site has always cooked the books and smudged the numbers to protect thier fav's and shit on every one else.they no longer get to shit on me.
