Ch. 2 - Pg. 32

In the movie Grey Owl, a white man pretended to be a Native-American for many years. He went around, giving speeches, drawing attention to the plight of Native-Americans and nature in general. At a Pow Wow, a Chief is looking him over closely. Then the Chief smiles, clearly recognizing what he really is, but instead of anger, he says:
“A man becomes what he dreams… you dreamed well.”
Obviously I love that quote, and the sentiment behind it certainly courses though this story…
Anyway, what in the world does Maa'm have against the Maatrii and her family? I thought her speech was pretty cool!!
See that cornucopia horn looking thing in front of the Maatrii? These people have developed a organic pseudo-technology and that's supposed to be a sound amplifier (and that pole-thing behind her is a bio-light thing. There seems to be a reluctance to use fire, for any reason…). Anyway, I don't want to go too crazy with this bio-tech stuff (you won't see an organic BMW), instead keeping things pseudo-primitive… But the Boom-Caster, seen next page, is certainly interesting!

Maa'm is interesting
KimLuster at 9:15AM, March 7, 2018
Should see her when she was younger!! :D
Peipei at 7:08AM, March 7, 2018
She looks like a really awesome villain if there ever was any! Loving her character design!
KimLuster at 9:15AM, March 7, 2018
Yeah, I watched Maleficent recently - wonder if that subconscious thing happened!!

An ally in Maa'm! I'm loving that character already! I wonder how the boys will respond to Rhiann now...still hesitant, or wanting to succeed where the elite failed? I could see it going either way!
KimLuster at 9:14AM, March 7, 2018
Haha good to have a Maa'm on your side!! As for the boys, we'll see how they respond... if they get the chance! ;)

She kind of has a scary female Loki look to her
KimLuster at 6:13AM, March 6, 2018
Now I like that comparison!!

Nifty bit of inspiration.
KimLuster at 3:41PM, March 5, 2018
Yeah, didn't sound like a snotty snoot to me!!
El Cid at 2:02PM, March 5, 2018
It's kinda weird though that in their mythology their forebears were brought down by "wicked dreams." Dreams are subconscious! That's like original sin. How do you not dream wicked dreams?!!
KimLuster at 7:50PM, March 5, 2018
More like Protestant work-ethic to me haha... God favors those he predestines, and you'll know his favor by how much you prosper in this life, so you work very hard so you'll be prosperous, thus showing God favors you! Gotta love religio-logic!!
El Cid at 4:42PM, March 5, 2018
Well, some religions view time as a circle, so I guess that makes sense. You dream it because it happened, and then it happens because you dreamed it!
KimLuster at 3:40PM, March 5, 2018
Haha well as in most mythologies, they probably got a hell-a-lotta details wrong!!! Plus, it may be they take dream-meaning a little different, as in, you do what you dream (even if it's, as you say, subconscious) so if you then do well, that means you dreamed well (how's that for circle-logic!!)
El Cid at 2:01PM, March 5, 2018
In other words, might as well rub it in while you can! Now go join the twerk-off!
KimLuster at 3:41PM, March 5, 2018
Not sure twerking has been (re?)discovered yet! :D
bravo1102 at 6:07AM, March 5, 2018
We are the music makers, we are the dreamers of the dreams. It's Willy Wonka!
KimLuster at 3:43PM, March 5, 2018
hehe I smiled when I read it!
bravo1102 at 12:19PM, March 5, 2018
From me that's a compliment. I love that movie. It got me through so much and I know most of the words to the songs.
KimLuster at 6:32AM, March 5, 2018
Hey that's a much better movie than is often given credit... Ya know, though, I did think about how twee 'primitive' speeches and ritual might sound to our modern ears. I watched the Black Panther movie last weekend, and while I liked it, I found myself wanting to roll my eyes during those ritual fight scenes, with the chanting and chest-heaving... But I knew it was just my modern sensibilities trying to throw me off!
Jamie59 at 5:14AM, March 5, 2018
So how erotic does this dance get?
Jamie59 at 5:21PM, March 5, 2018
I was thinking burlesque Or stripping before getting naked. A lot of tease & suggestiveness.
KimLuster at 3:43PM, March 5, 2018
Well... full-on mating during this thing is frowned up. It's largely an elaborate group courtship ritual, but the petting, groping... doing everything but... probably can get pretty intense
