Running Interception!

Heh… local elections. It reminds me of one of the biggest reasons why I went into comics in the first place (and why I'm glad the internet came on when it did).

Long ago, while I was in high school a senator went and published a comic in hopes of winning a re-election. What he came out with was the worst comic I've ever seen, and it was mailed out to every woman in my area. In the comic he self inserted himself as a superhero attacking the evils of the administration, and private enterprises such as the power and cable companies. The result? He lost the election by a landslide.

I was just doodling at that point, but I figured if he could do comics, then so could I… except that I won't mix politics with comics. I know comics are a medium, and like any other medium you can communicate your message to the masses. But I'd rather just draw and tell stories through comics; entertaining people is a lot more fun than trying to stick your own political agenda in their face. :)
