Hanged Doll

Firstly, we're skipping two comics on the list for the time being: Hainted Holler, because we have not been able to find it, and Ragnadventure, which hasn't updated since last October. Once either author contacts us to let us know that the comic's still going, we will review it that week (we'd also need a proper link from Hainted Holler's author).
Anyway, onto this week's comic: I really, really liked the art, and feel it deserves all the praise it gets. But with an already confusing story made even worse by bad translation, it was very difficult to get through this one.
Here is my favorite page,and here's Hark's.
As usual, let your thoughts be known in the forum, and we'll see you next week!

Really? I think the translation is not that bad. In fact, I'm very understand about the story because it's use simple english sentences form. Maybe it's because I'm Asian and most Asian people have a great understanding in "engrish". In fact we're understand something in "engrish" better than proper english. Because we're learn simple english vocabulary and conversation in School. Sometimes I've become really confused when read manga/manwha that used proper english sentences and didn't make any sense because we didn't learned that high class vocabulary the translator used. It suck too be pure American, huh? Just joking ;) Oh, don't worry mamaya94, just keep the good work and continue to translating more manhwa because the reader is not only from america, but from other country too. My regards, from Indonesia.

Some people overlooked the fact known. Maya does only translate it. Honest review and good sport.

Personally I think that the one long line layout works better in comics; it keeps you from taking a peek at a few panels ahead, and keeps suprises suprises and punchlines punchlines. Decent review though, he should work on.. being a better translator.

don't worry mamaya94, it's interesting storywise, and it only felt weird because of the scrolling for me.... and it's not better to have to scroll down all the time... the western layout is what has been used since the first comics... pages small enough that you could probably fit them in a book... simple as that

Alright... First,I do know I'm a bad translator and that was my first work... And second,To me,The American webcomic layout is more weird!!! I have to wait to see the next page!!!It's much easier to scroll. And also, the flow get cutted while waiting for the next page,That's why all the webcomic artist prefer to you the layout like Hanged Doll. And thrid,It's weird that you didn't understood the stories. To me it wasn't that hard and i didn't heard that kind of comment.Maybe I should make a page that explain all the stories. The Superior Day is truly confusing. The comic have 2 stories,The past and The Present. The Hanged Doll is about 5 people lived a normal life until a card with a mysteious drawing of a hanged person came to them asking "Where does your memory begin?" Because of that card,Those 5 notice that all their memories start in 1994,A little too late for a first memory of 24 years old .So they try to find out about why but then the mysterious people in a suit assault them and their friend start to get killed really violently... Who's behind this? What's it's motive? What happened in 1994? What's the Hanged Doll? Why do we have to suffer this? They ask themselve these question and try to do anything to find out their first memory. The cool thing about this comic is that the position of the character as a good guy and bad guy start to get confused when their memories have been found out. It's pretty cool comic but I guess I've ruined it. But still,I think it's a good comic for people who like cool stories

I'm pretty sure mamaya94 is just doing the translation and the art is by some other non-DD author.
ParkerFarker at 5:14AM, April 3, 2010
yeah, I also had the idea that mamaya94 is just translating it.

Nice review!!! I do tried to check a couple of mamaya94 works, but while the art is top notch, the stories are hard to follow...

Hey, you both made puns this week!
Chernobog at 7:57PM, April 2, 2010
As I understand it, mamaya94 is just the translator and that none of the comics are actually his. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I've read that in the forums once or twice. The art on his selections is nice, but yeah, the vertical gaps, pauses, and confusing text prevents me from getting into any of them.

I had a different opinion on the story XD to be honest, i've seen so many confusing stories like that it wasn't too hard to sort it all out, which is probably why i liked it more.. but seriously... the scrolling... I literally never STOPPED scrolling down, i could actually read everything from scrolling down constantly at high speeds
