@DAJB Treacle pastry or pudding, isn't bad however it's a diabetic attack between layers of puff pastry, why not have a side of jellied eels and black pudding with the steak and kidney pie. BTW do you prefer yours with beef or ox kidneys?
Ha ha! Cultural stereotypes- always fun, rarely actually true for most cases. XD
DAJB: I'm a vegetarian, but I remember from the days I wasn't and was a student over to your neck of the woods, that pork pies were absolutely irresistible- that and cumberland sausages. :P
But I think the stereotype comes from other culinary faut pas, such as eating a cake made several months ago. I still am not sure how you do that! XD
Lance Danger: Thanks!!
Dragonrider: Careful, you're about to start a cultural clash war. XD XD XD
Nicotine: Thanks, me too!! On a sidenote, I'm amazed nobody has heard a single line yet from this Briton, but they are immediately rooting for him. He's got a following already! :D
@dragonrider: I am. And I weep for your uninformed opinion of Brit-cuisine! Despite the efforts of the French and others to convince us otherwise, real Brits know that small but prettily presented portions, undercooked meats and raw vegetables, and an exotic sauce to mask the real taste of the food do not make for a good meal!
Mmmm - I'm pining for a steak and kidney pie even as I write this. Followed by treacle pudding and custard - lovely!
;-)
Hey, Brits are gluttons for punishment, have you ever eaten their cooking? I have and I fully understand why they say in Hell the Chefs are British. Hope none of my British friends are reading this.
