The Locals Pt. 1

The Caped Canuck originated as “Captain Canada” a few years back when Colin Turnbull (Evil Dawn/colours on this chapter's title page) dressed up much like this character on Canada day. He got uber-wasted (in the true Canadian way) and his face sweat all over the mask (cut out of a red file folder and looked almost identical to the one pictured above), and turned it into mush. Ever since I've wanted to use the character in a comic. Zom-Ben turned out to be a perfect excuse, but after some research, I found that a Captain Canada already existed, so I had two options: The Caped Canadian or the Caped Canuck. With some help from alracD, I opted for the letter. It has just the right amount of camp, I think.

Femininja is a character created specifically for the Zom-Ben story, developed mostly because I thought the name was hilarious. A feminist ninja? That's comic gold! I was brought to the realization, inevitably, that I can't write for a feminist character if I know nothing about feminism. Thanks to Keri Ryan for being the feminist adviser for Femininja.
