Oh, this one is just me being silly. I really wanted Fred to “discover” those dang revolving doors… I hate those things. Figures he thinks it's a “ride”.
Alright, this is the last time I'm mentioning it, but I did an interview on the gigcast! Go listen already!
cool, some solid constructive criticism!
P.R.: interesting thought... I kind of figured Z asked the question as he was getting into the revolving door, and the last panel follows after he got out of it. Of course, Fred didn't quite follow him. Anyone else confused by this? An extra panel may have made it more clear.
antcomics & Villamar: normal people suck the fun right outta your life. It stinks!
crocty: I wonder that myself, ha!
n_y_japlander: sometimes I think technology could be utilized for more useful things.. but no more revolving door fatalities would be good I suppose.
Brock: Well, my process lately has been to use very simple straight lines in the backgrounds (the "digital" style you're referring to), so as not to compete with the main characters and looser lines in the foreground. The squiggly/loose lines catch my eye, while the very simple stuctured background fade back. That was my thinking... but you are entitled to your opinion for sure! Maybe there's a compromise in the middle? Suggestions?
I'm having a hard time making the background fade back without lessening the detail or eliminating it for the most part. When you work so small.. it gets tough, as I'm sure you know!
everyone else: thanks for readin', and sorry I can't respond to each of you... busy busy busy at work!
Great joke at the end there. Gotta say I'm not as crazy about the direction the color is taking lately. This strip in particular has backgrounds and color that are much more obviously digital. For my aesthetic tastes, it doesn't blend well with the line art. Looks like two opposing styles mashed together.
Take that for what it's worth. My tastes are admittedly old school. You know I love the strip in any case.
last year a boy was killed in a revolving door here, so now, all revolving doors here have super sensors, and stop if anything bigger than a mouse is still in the area, after it should be out....
So, I can no longer have fun in revolving doors here in Tokyo.
Awww, haha! This one's great! Can't beat a bit of silliness... not that aliens dressed as dogs checking out their owner's office isn't silly already! ;)
I like this one. The only thing I don't like is how Zorphbert is also in the... geez, what do you people call 'em, rotating doors and he calls to Fred who is stuck in the same doors.
Wouldn't Zorphbert also be stuck in the doors too?

I don't see what he is talking about. The coloring looks great and no sense of depth is lost...funny strip today! loved it.

Going in circles. Sounds like my job. But I don't have that nifty door! I like the coloring. Just sayin'

It's so funny seeing Z & F walking like dogs.

I like the smoking man in the last panel. It was just the right touch

Sometimes I wonder which one's the smart one. That idea of Fred's is a GENIUS ONE!
antcomics at 7:22AM, Oct. 17, 2007
I've done that. I've also tried walking up the down escalator. Like Villamar, I was reprimanded...damnit.
Villamar at 6:14AM, Oct. 17, 2007
I've done that before. A security guard ruined my fun though. Stupid normal people
Mbz0rz at 5:20AM, Oct. 17, 2007
I hate those doors too. x_x
harryq at 3:57AM, Oct. 17, 2007
