I'm going to appologize to all of you ahead of time. It is very possible that, due to my short attention span, I will start yelling things like Grimlock from transformers (i.e.: Me, Mr. Riot, want more Mountain Dew!).

Um, on a serious note…are we all meeting up somewhere and signing in as a group? Do we just show up and get our badges like regular con-goers? This will be the first con in a while that I won't be wandering around blind in a Snake Eyes visor, so the whole booth thing is quite new to me. Anybody like Mr. Granger a vet at this? Advice?

I was scouring the list over at WizardWorld and I saw about 8 or 9 names from DD I recognised. Also, if you look by table #s, you can see what DDers are gonna be there. I think we're 2208-2212

Heh. Platinum will be playing “Spin the bottle” and we'll all be stuck in the kids' room with over-sized legos so we can't choke on them.

What I know for sure is that Lori Petty will be there and she is not leaving that con without signing my “Tank Girl” dvd! This, I COMMAND!

So…anybody else getting pre-con jitters? I feel like I drank too much Dew then ate a pound of pop-rocks. As excited as I am about going to WW, I've got this, “Wait a second…what am i THINKING?!” vibe. I think it's just because ComixPress screwed me and I won't have any printed issues (except the mini ones I made at Kinko's…still trying to figure out if I should bother bringing them).

What's everyone else bringing? I had a real limited number of prints made, some flyers, and a few postcards(and by “postcards, I mean ”lookit what I printed out on my HP photo printer!").I know Granger and Coffman are big-wig, already-published types, so they have cool stuff. I'm a tiny-wig, happy-anyone-reads-my-comic-at-all type. So, really, I don't take myself seriously enough to do any hard-core promoting. I'll just be happy if someone doesn't try to burn down my table for being a Mignola wannabe. I'm probably going to draw, talk to anyone who happens by, and bug the rest of you with crazy ideas.

I'm bringing a book, an iPod, and a debit card. We'll see how the trip goes yes?

Also: Dunno if we talked about crashing, but if someone could lend me a room for a night or two, that'd rock hard. A floor/sofa would be perfect, and I'm about as non-intrusive as you can get. Looooooosssss Aaaaannnggeeellleeessss!

Also: Is there an official schedule or tips on when/where to show up or any tips for anyone who's never been to a con before?

Hey hey- Coffman checking in here. Looking forward to meeting you guys/gals out there.

Mr. Riot- Sorry to hear about your comixpress mis-mash. Logan is good people there, I'm sure he feels pretty bad about it, they had a hell of a time with a press being down or something I hear.

As for what to bring, do bring any books you have, minicomics or whatever. Shoot, i came from minicomics and I love that stuff. You can do well with it too, you'd be surprised.

For anyone not knowing what to do there, or what to bring, one thought you should imbed in your mind is that it's a chance to meet new readers, so have something handy to send them to your site. They'll likely have boatloads of flyers to throw away, so it's sort of like “spamming” people at shows. Best thing you can EVER do is talk to people at your table and offer to draw free drawings– make friends, make connections, build readers for you and YOU are your own brand! Get out there and have fun.

We all start small, in fact I'm still pretty small. I don't have the showgirls or big banners hanging throughout LA like DJ. And at NY we had many of the big Image, Marvel, DC, etc. guys coming over and I didn't feel very big next to them. You just have to get over that feeling and realize that you've got something special to show.

And you know…I didn't even get that connection to Mignola. I like your style and his, but don't think it's too much alike. I've got a new series coming to DD (and print) that might get that as well.

We actually have a little more space than we thought we would have (hey, it's better than not enough space and people get left out, right?) so we're going to be spreading people out amongst the tables. So even though it LOOKS like hpkomic and Marine are getting full tables, they are not. We gots to be fair…
