Are there many views which are bots on this site?

My comic has received 0 likes or comments, but is getting tons of views, like 600-700 per day, it’s insane, and it’s currently top ten. How accurate are the stats? It’s kinda demoralising having such high views with little engagement…

It's always been common to have views but no comments- well at least since the great restoration in about 2013/2014, whenever that was.
It's because you can have traffic from outside the site and people who aren't members can't comment.
Also lots of sites just flat out take our stuff and “view” our site as if it was theirs.
So any number of those things can happen.

I don't think there are bots looking at comic pages. It is possible but there's no point to it that I can think off.
Normally they'll do that sort of thing to artificially inflate advertising stats but our ads don't work that way at all and only we run them anyway,so there's zero point to that.

Wow, so this site gets that much traffic? I'm surprised that that much people are actually reading my comic! Although to be fair I upload only 1 panel per page but still, it's a lot of people… Thanks for the reply!

Do the math. This comic has 300+ pages. Two people read the whole archive and that is 700 page views.
With a single panel per page it is a fast binge read. So you're well set up to get lots of page views.

Yeah I figured that. Still pretty suprising, considering on Tapas, the first chapter of EOV has close to 2000 views while the last chapter has like 10 views. Most people don't binge my comic on Tapas, and I'm guessing it'll be the same here, alot of people would see the first few pages, decide it's not for them, then stop reading and go to another comic… Still pretty cool though, even if it's only like 5 readers per day, that's more than tapas gives me…

they could be scanning for vulnerabilities so they can hack and say ‘haha. all ur base are belong to gweneth paltrow.’ and you have to give them a ton of Hats, the crypto currency of the bald movement, or else something something.

Hahahaha!
That's it ^_^

Though I looked at his other comic and the sats are much lower and my own comics have normal stats so I doubt it's a bot because those aren't specifically after particular comics, they tend to be going after everything.

We have a mixed bag of viewers here. Don't worry if they are looking they are reading. Some just don't like to comment. Sometimes called “lurkers” for that reason. Nothing wrong with them. :)
