You should put your wet gloves in the rotation with your shoes.
Should your gloves still frozen to the floor you will need some hot water (as hot as you can stand) and a bunch of newspaper.
You will need to alternately pour the hot water(use small amounts) over the glove, and then blot them with the news paper, until they come loose.
Also, plastic bags, and thick socks for Emergency mittens.
Ugh, I'm always 2 years behind. I don't even know where to start on reading your comics, rmccool. Then I realize many updates are on this one since I last read it (back when I just into a trailer), and you're still dealing with this. :(
I would suggest starting here: https://www.theduckwebcomics.com/user/rmccool/
First read through all of How to be Homeless, then Public Humiliation, then A Little More Humiliation, then Habibah's Song, then finish off with the short series. I like to read 20 or so comics at a time, then add a bookmark to the last page so I can pick up where I left off next time.
Nothing like wet shoes to make life miserable.
For something that's not miserable, J Riley's birthday is coming up in early March. Send her a card to make her life a bit more pleasant, or a gift to make her life a little easier!

Putting newspaper in the shoes could get more humidity out.
