Interesting that the 3M tape didn't work. My front license plate is attached with heavy-duty 3M double-sided tape. I bought the car in a state which doesn't require a front license plate, and I didn't feel like drilling holes in my bumper to secure the license plate holder. The tape has held the plate holder just fine for 3 years, 36k miles, high temps over 100F, lows to 40F, goes through the car wash about once a month. The same tape is used to attach a lot of decorative trim on the exterior of cars.
Nice work getting the darn thing reattached, and I'm glad you didn't have to remove your finger after gluing it to the car. Kind of neat that they discovered a glue that works on glass. Yay on finding a possible job, but boo on it being so dangerous. I hope you're doing well.
If it's not a sharp dent (no sharp creases), the usual trick is to attack a big suction cup to it and pull it out. If the rear of the body panel is accessible (trunk, around the tire wells), you can sometimes remove some plastic molding, stick your hand in and push out the dent from behind. Doesn't work if it's a sharp dent because the paint usually flakes off at the crease, and now you need a several hundred dollar paint job. Usually better just to live with the dent.

With a job like that it's best to stay focused and stay safe, so don't let yourself get too distracted!

If it took 25 hours, maybe it was an evil mirror person after all!

You got one for car dents? Someone threw their cart at my car while I was shopping and now I’ve got a huge dent in my driverside door
