Prologue p11

This was another page where Brent exercised a lot of creative freedom in successfully delivering a fun and spirited action sequence. I like the fact that Jeremiah isn't actually in-panel, but the effects of his actions can be clearly felt. In the first three panels, we see one of the demons swallowing a shotgun blast and finally exploding in the fourth panel. While his partner in that same panel transitions to the last two panels to meet his ultimate fate.

Yes, the final panel is a shameless homage to Ridley Scott's Alien, which remains to me the definitive horror film of our time. You can do those things when you're making indy comics, and there's a couple of such “easter eggs” throughout the book.
