After lots of planning and hard work on the part of many DDers, the last of the 2013 Drunk Duck Awards were given out this week. Acceptance Speeches and other Extras will be accepted until January 24th, and can be PQed to Niccea or emailed to 2013awards(at)justnopoint(dot)com.


Here are some highlights!



El Cid's Death P*rn was this year's undeniable big winner, with some 10 awards including Best Adult Comic, Best Humor Comic, and Most Deliciously Offensive.
Despite its unabashed depictions of sex and violence, Death P*rn is one of those rare comics that manages to cross the divide from adult content to mainstream acceptance and popularity. Adult readers with strong stomachs will get a kick out of its masterful mix of humour, action, and good old-fashioned nudity.
Death P*rn also took home two of the major awards: Best Completed Comic and Reader's Choice Award.



The other big award winner this year was Keeping Up with Thursday, a Disney-esque adventure comic featuring anthropomorphic mice living rough in London. Despite its nostalgic style, though, this comic's characters and plot are delightfully mature. Some of KUWT's awards included Best Adventure Comic, Best Dialogue and Best Character Design.


This year's Best Overall Comic Strip award went to Inappropriate Irving, which hilariously stars a man with permanent verbal diarrhea.


Best Overall Comic Story was won by Crossoverkill, a very cool community comic where superheroes from various webcomics team up.

Best Community Project - The 2013 DrunkDuck Radio Play
As Newspost Duchess I ought to remain unbiased, but I have to say that the DD Radio Play is one of my favourite things that we do here. Gunwallace's clever script and input from so many great DDers (including yours truly) combined to make a fantastic comic and play this year.

Outstanding Community Achievement - Banes

Most Supportive Reader - Plymayer
502 Award - Gunwallace

Although the comic awards are the real focus of the DD Awards, I always look forward to the user awards. The community aspect of DD is so important to what makes this site wonderful and unique, and it's great to be able to recognize the amazing commenters, creators and so on who have stuck around through the Duck's tribulations.

Thanks once again to Niccea, without whom the DD Awards would almost certainly have been dead in the water after last year's crash.
