Set in a time of Feudal Japan, there are two competing clans: the Oni Clan (represented as an ogre or troll in Japanese folklore) and the Fox Clan (a woodland creature). Kisago is assigned to Midori, both members of the Fox Clan, to be her personal escort because he shows persistence. Unsurprisingly similar to their Fox Clan name, Kisago and Midori have fiery personalities—always arguing back and forth—when the end goal is to get back to a nap.
The majority of the comic pages are drawn in black and white. Chapters span eighteen pages in length (except for chapter zero, which has five).
