Technical support is a funny old business – I’ve been helping our support staff take calls this month and I have to say, client expectation doesn’t often match what can actually be achieved.
Troubleshooting issues is about trial and error not errors and trials, and every error (despite being on the same computer) has it’s own unique cause, effect and time frame for resolution. I do love a good “Have you tried turning it off and on again?†it’s a bit of a cliché. But with good reason, I recommend it so try it out sometime! (do remember to save any files you may have been working on first though. I really can’t stress that enough).
