SS7 28 Feeling left out

So… Just 12 weeks before the grand concert and Lucy's inadvertently giving Sarah plenty of time to stew on her relationship issues.

Again it's another texty page with no actual conversation as I want to keep the story moving and it felt better to put her thoughts and feelings in a nutshell for the moment so that we can understand her mood before we dive into the more intense scenes which are just around the corner. In fact next week we join Sarah, Janey and Nikki in a conversation that starts a snowball of events that will carry us to the end.

I love how self-aware Sarah can be. Sometimes she sees what's happening and takes appropriate action and sometimes she just watches as it burns. She's so realistic it's almost scary to realise I do the same bloody thing! ((btw, I think this is my first time commenting even though I've been reading SS since 2011- 8 years! It's been such a huge comfort to follow Sarah's journey while I go through my own drama and growth so I'll be sad (and proud) whenever/however it ends))

skyangel: I'm sure there's others. Over the years I would start commenting and then be asked to sign up and chicken out. I'm not surprised you were nervous- I've had projects I wanted to put online but backed out of out of fear, but I'm so glad you've followed through. I started reading as a teenager in a similar place t Sarah was initially and the story has aged with me. Seeing all the characters grow and the way your story telling and art has evolved to fit the plot has been incredible. You definitely deserve to be proud (and praised)!

Bogeywoman: You made my day! I often wonder if there are any long time readers out there who maybe have never commented but do still read so it was really nice to read this comment from you today. When I first started writing this comic I had a desire to be honest about my thoughts and feelings to keep it real but at the same time I was also half convinced that the world would see Sarah as a pretty sad and pathetic individual! Convinced enough in fact, that I postponed going public with the first set of pages for about 3 weeks! So you can imagine how good I felt after I finally took the plunge and found that not only were readers identifying with me from the off but mostly loving it too, which in turn made me feel a lot more confident about continuing. It's certainly been a really amazing journey for me in connecting with people like you through doing this too as it feels like it makes us all stronger to know it's okay to be human :)

Nice page. And yes it neatly puts Sarah's thoughts and feelings in a nutshell - I still think a threesome would help clear the air (sorry) - but moving swiftly along, as is the story, there is a feeling of matters coming to a head. What is this snowball going to start? Oh, and the opening frame - perfect. The text in the top of the frame sets it up, and then the artwork adds a thousand more words. :-)

Fruitbat: Thanks. I'm late responding to comments this week so in fact the page just loaded answers that question although it will be another couple of pages before we go back and 'relive' those events with our little gang of friends. It's one reason I've been using more text driven pages just lately as Sarah's thoughts are the main focal point and it's quicker for me to narrate them than put all her thoughts in bubbles. But when we get to the night out it will be mostly all chat again.

Actually, there is a similar song, by a different artist, except in this song, they are at home, can't remember the name or, well, anything about the lyrics :( Old age doesn't do any favours for the memory :(

How young do you believe me to be? There are records, and things called 'the radio' :P Knew the song, and searched for it, went with that version because it was at the top of the list (and seemed to be the oldest). Age should not be a barrier to missing out on good music

I think most people are open to hearing 'new' songs, especially as you get older because my appreciation has certainly broadened to what I was like in my teens. Another thing I like to see is a modern song put to really old dance clips which just seem to fit so well.

Nothing wrong with a 'texty' page, especially when it's the quiet "pull back of the bow string", before the next 'arrow' gets released. Plenty of colour and detail to go with it .

Not sure where heard (or read) it before, so don' attribute this to me, butt, it is oftimes the moments in between that are just as important, like the spaces between words or borders between pictures
