I think what's going on here pretty much speaks for itself. Janey is clearly going to have a hard time keeping her emotions under control despite repeatedly promising Sarah she wouldn't let her down!

Well this went really well all things considered! I loved the first panels in which they both are with their arms crossed, and how you can witness two contrasting conversations at once, really nicely done

Stacey’s story is so richly developed - did you have Stacey’s story planned out from the start, or did her back story and character growth happen more organically?

Eudie: Organically is the answer! Our readers were so keen for a second chapter that I thought introducing a school bully would go down well and Geraldine was just a victim. But while writing Chapter 3 I was 'roleplaying' that party scene in my mind weeks before I wrote the final script at at some point close to the deadline it just came to me that Geraldine's mother could be at the root of things. From that point on Stacey's story just kept expanding!

Sky, I find it incredible how you keep this story going for as long as you have. I know a lot of people who have given up updating their comics, but it is always so lovely to come back to the Duck and see yet another upload from you. It is always a pleasure seeing the beautiful artwork and lovely coloring.

Kingtidus: I sometimes wonder how I've kept going so long too but I guess it comes down to two things really; one is the ease with which the characters lives came together in my mind and made me excited enough to want to get them down on paper and the second is the wonderful reception we've had for so long. It certainly wouldn't have gone on for so long if we'd lost our readership.

Interesting strip. Janey, quite understandably, is not "forgiving & forgetting." But Stacey does seem genuinely remorseful over her past misdeeds. Hmmm . . . we shall see where this all goes. Oh, and the glass coach for the wedding . . . classy or tacky or romantic? Well, it's Gerry & Sasha's wedding, so it's what works for them.

Fruitbat: Haha I like to think romantic but I don't think it would have been Gerry's choice! This is an actual style of coach available for weddings aptly titled the Cinderella Coach and I couldn't resist using it.

The views you've mentioned are really why I brought Sarah, Janey and Stacey together for the finale, because this is a huge issue that has never been resolved from Janey's perspective. I can't say any more but hopefully you'll enjoy what lies ahead.

Got a feeling Janey is telling Leo things Sarah "conveniently" forgot to mention, or worse, 'glossed' over to make what Stacey did seem not so bad and that it's just Janey holding on to a petty grudge

This is exactly what I have been saying for years. Not just the commenters, but the people in the comic do downplay Janey's incident and resentment quite a lot, including Sarah herself. It's a great example at how people get swept into their own lives; to them, Janey's incident in High School is long gone, but Janey's the one that had to live with it and still deals with lingering consequences years later. It was really good to see Sarah finally acknowledge Janey's pain regarding Sarah's past involvement with Stacy in this chapter. It's a wonderfully complex issue, and heavily highlights the very real point of how events like that are dulled in people's memories with time. It also served to really demonstrate Sarah's character flaw of digging into business and trying to help people no matter how badly it's going to turn out for Sarah herself. :)

This is a really good page; Sarah catching up and trying to keep conversation positive while Janey is making sure everyone knows what Stacy did. A funny note is that kids have no filter and are quick to let people know when they are having zero fun. :D lol
