Continuity hook-ups ROCK!
I'm having some fun here between the two characters. I wanted to bring more of Luke's comic into this, so I took the care to draw as much of the apartment as I could figure out from the Energize comic.
I have my own theories for drawing masks and cowels. While the eye holes shouldn't really move the way they do on Energize here, it's a necessity to get emotion out of him or just to make it appear as though he's looking over his shoulder, as he's doing in the last panel.

well one of the reasons to wear a cowl is to mask your emotions, don't want the baddies to know your scared.

Yes, while Luke basically wrote the entire story, it was my job to pepper it with humor.

They do look great together! And I completely agree on your remarks concerning facial expressions... I approached drawing Energize on HU#1 similarly. I don't mind a little eye mask like the one Bombshell's got though ^^
