Hey, look! A supervillain, in my superhero story! I'm sure many of you were wondering when I'd have a superhero actually fighting a supervillain. He was one I had created with the intention of making him a potential member of the Doppelganger Gang from Crossoverkill. However, Al Schroeder advised me that it would be best if I didn't tie him to that group, especially as I don't know what will happen to them. Though I'm fine with him being subjected to all sorts of things, I was reminded that there are already two Gangers who are sadistic killers, and my villain would be redundant. So I agreed to not go that route. But what's his supervillain name? I think I'll go with “Masticator”. He may show up again, or just serve as a reminder to Fractal how far some villains can go.

What Fractal means by not being a “super” hero is that before Masticator, he hadn't really experienced what it was like to go up against criminals. Thieves may kill, but they generally avoid it, because it makes a situation messier (and often it's not in them). But some people have no compunctions against it.

Also: Mindmistress carries over her cameo from the last page. She's not staying, though, having already summonned a catwalk out of there. It just takes five minutes to form. Considering she will not be showing up again in this issue, Fractal may have told more of the story, enough to last five minutes or longer. Also, it looks like that may be Flamer (of Fusion, who also appeared on the splash page) in the last panel, walking away from the bar (and out of the issue entirely). It's up to Hogan as to whether that one counts, though.

Tomorrow (hopefully): A change of subject.
