Scene Zero - 003

Well, here's the 3rd page. Not much to say about it since it turned out pretty okay… yeah. Oh, and SA-6 sprites are made by konigstiger. It's really sad for it to see such little light.
Recently my brother brought the PS2 back from college and I've been trying out SkyGunner (Refer to my previous author's comments) lately… it's a pretty solid game that takes some time getting used to- then, I'd be more familiar with flight sim controls since I used to play a lot of Ace Combat- except that here I use guns- lots and lots of guns. So far I like what I'm seeing so far but I wish I had a bit more control on camera as it turns nasty when fighting a huge airship with so many parts to shoot at.
The art style I like quite frankly- I'd like to try it out myself someday. The visuals are also great but may look dull as of now- especially to the owners of high-end consoles and such. But hey, you'd be too busy blowing stuff up to notice. As an aircraft nut, I love the aircraft designs- it's so steampunk. But Poulets still annoy me- especially when they do “BARREL ROLL NOWZ!”
Voice acting is pretty okay for english acting. But I still prefer Japanese voiceover although there really isn't much difference since English voiceover won't blow your ears.
My main problem with this game is the epic slowdown (It's been addressed hundreds of times from reviews). But as an owner of a crappy computer that lags when running Photoshop, I myself see no difference in gameplay experience. …Sniff.
Well, it's Spring Break. Better get crackin' on necessary sprites. See you next week.

Bah now I feel guilty about not having seen your other stuff before. you've gotten fantastic at spritework, composition, storytelling, and moodsetting in general! i'm completely impressed.

Oh wow, thanks! I always welcome insightful comments so don't feel sorry about it. It shows me that I'm doing something right. It's always been hard for me to find sprite comics worthy of a praise and everywhere I looked it was just the... same. Well there's a saying that if you can't find it then make it.

I'm impressed! I have to say, I don't generally like sprite comics. Oh I don't avoid them out of spite, I can usually read through the archives okay and some of them even induce a chuckle or two from me. But on the whole very little about them can hold my attention for long. This, however, for the first time in a long time, shows some actual forethought and promise and is actually USING THE MEDIUM instead of LETTING THE MEDIUM USE YOU like everyone else seems to do. It shows artistic choices and intelligent design and is much MUCH more than simple copy-paste so far. And if you continue in this vein, I might even venture to say that you could revive the lagging shell of "sprite comics" and actually show it to be something worthwhile. Sorry to be so wordy, but I've been reading/watching a lot of reviews tonight and I'm in the mood. XD That AND it shocked and amazed me that a Sprite comic could look this good. You haven't hooked me just yet, because that's really hard to do with only three pages. It's not a criticism, we've all been there. XD But the mere fact that this already so completely shatters the mold gets a 5 out of me.

Thanks for the comment. As for the label... ugh, I was hoping I wouldn't come across this problem. I'll see what I can do, but it seems like it doesn't want to change.

Wow, excellent work. Now may I just say that while there are some drawn parts of this comic, this seems to be mostlya sprite comic so I reccomend that you label it as one so you can get some spriting fans. ;)
