@Banes: Ha, and we can see why maybe Jack Caleb wanted to keep the fact that he's also 'infected' a secret for now ;) Next page - another revelation along this level! They're going be coming more rapidly now...!
When they said the Colonel's musings were appropriate for a slumber party, for some reason I pictured the Colonel thinking "Well I guess they're not going to want to hear my thoughts on our Bloody Mary experiments in the next wing, then..."
Very cool revelation that Kimber is still "with us"! It was quite clear that she was sensing the vibrations through the pipes. Awesome! And it gives credence to the Colonel's fears in a way, maybe. People who are this outside and above the norm...where will it lead?
@plymayer: Thanks for the infos - Yes, could be a different time, or possibly sorta a dream still (Nothing in this comic has happened outside of Kimber Lee's perceptions, thus outside her mind - she even perceives these bigwigs talking, though I tried to make that seem not the case for a few pages, as a sort of monkey wrench haha). All that said - I still wanna attempt to get these sort of details right!
The army blues were worn on special occasions when I was in. I was navy but served with army, airforce, marines, etc. Mostly they wore the green uniforms like your folks here or BDUs in working conditions or in the field.
Actually looks black. Like the old calvary guys in the John Wayne movies. And the officers wear shoulder boards/epaulets.

The army dress blue have been around for decades for special purposes. Like at the tomb of the unknown soldier. Never did understand why they did away with the greens. Probably the same reason they decided all navy folks could wear coveralls or BDUs.
@Peipei: yeah, it's an awful feeling when you've been talking about someone, and then realize they could hear you the whole time... Not that I'd know... *looks around*
@decimation: One in ten deaths in a military unit can and has effectively annihilated a unit as an effective combat entity so the change in meaning is understandable in the context of military history. The decimation punishment over the history of the Roman legion varied so even in it's original meaning it was not strictly one in ten. Annoying as all hell ain't it?
And I get that about Pandora's box - but the current meaning has changed in the world mind. Similar to the word 'decimate'. Decimate actually means killing 1 out of every 10 (as a means of punishing a group), but it has come to mean totally annihilating something!
Don't fear... A page by itself sometimes doesn't make sense... it doesn't mean it's not working... explanations can be placed in other pages... Now, if all of them together don't make sense... It must be a great comic... You have a great comic going on here ... Wait, what?
@Bravo: Haha I guess, since this facility is out in the desert, pipe insulation didn't cross their minds (I know it didn't mine) :D. About the Uniform... Interesting! I didn't know the Unis had changed! Honestly I just googled 'Army Colonel Uniform' and used the first decent one I came upon as a reference (but I'm using the same one so I hope I stay consistent). I do hate being wrong about the current color... I guess... we could assume this story takes place prior to 2013! I simply can't go back and change the color now...!
Please double-check your research into US Army branch insignia. His uniform is right for pre-2013 (it changed from green to blue last year.) His branch appears to be quartermaster corps but as an officer it should be gold/brass. Good choice BTW as it makes total sense for him to be a quartermaster. R&D is a quartermaster function.
You guys screwed up by sound proofing the walls but not the ducts and pipes. Hey colonel you mind popping out to Home Depot and get some spray foam insulation? And Kimber Lee's expression is all kinds of menacing. People using the expression Pandora's box never remember that in the story there is NO closing it only reaching in to grasp the hope within.
I know exactly what's happening... They're all babbling... That's what happening... and for our little Kim there's no sound proof room... Extra enhanced senses!... Oh, and she's aware that some might just want to kill her...

Seemed to me like she's listening through the pipe network which is a cool idea! I love how her face merges with the pipe panels in the last one. :)

@VinoMas: the Colonel? Yeah - he's grown on me as well...!
VinoMas at 8:16PM, Oct. 11, 2014
I like that male character!

As this may or may not be a dream it can be any time past or future so what you have is fine.
