So a few pages back (pg 194 to be exact) there was some speculation that the ‘thing’ inside Kimber Lee may have taken control. This page lends an awful lot of credence to that, and maybe it's true… Kimber's Lee's speech patterns have been a little ‘off’ for the last several pages, with less use of contractions, stiffer grammar, if anyone's noticed…

Anyone ever had a ‘dream’ possess you - where your ‘dream self’ did stuff while you were screaming for your ‘self’ to stop! Sorta like horror movies, “Don't go in there!”, when you know the whole time they are…!

This page took a while, with drawing all the hair strokes. Still, alot of headshots… SkyAngel (author of Simply Sarah) commented that pages with lots of text often need different ‘camera shots’, poses, angles, to maintain visual interest, else it's just a bunch of Talking Heads (I'm paraphasing her a bit…), so next page I'm taking that sagely knowledge to heart!

As it takes time to read through an archive as large as yours I'm always a bit hit and miss about reading the editorials too but I was just about to comment on this page when I caught my name in my peripheral vision, so had to stall for a minute! lol I can't even remember making that commment now so it must have been wayyyyy back and I can see how it could look like a critique of this particular page!:) I've done several similar pages to this myself though where it's been a single character's face pulling multiple expressions which as others rightly point out has has an interest and humour of it's own (when used in moderation)so I'd never be against a page like this and you've made a really wonderful job of it. :)

@Peipei: I think the Colonel (prev page) was just saying they should keeping open the possibility of a more 'permanent' solution - whether they can control her or not. What's going on with Kimber Lee is scary, and looks to be something that can be passed to others - a potentially world-threat level danger. And I imagine Kimber Lee hates how they've got her caged up too, but she ('it'?) is making a good attempt at appearing otherwise...

I hate how they're all kind of just observing her like a lab rat x.x. Why would they want to kill her? She could be very useful in their research I would think :s!

@Bravo: I felt that to be the case... For the record everyone, SkyAngel never said anything about this page, or any other - it was just part of a comment on a early page of mine, where I'd brought up the subject of how to handle drawn out conversation... All that was before this page was even up. Anywayz... :)

A head doing all kinds of contorted expressions is dynamic. Talking heads is usually meant: head#1 open mouth, Head#2 closed mouth repeat for six panels. No one blinks, no one widens their eyes. Nothing but Two Expressionless Heads (coming soon starring Keanu Reeves as head #1)

I think the straightforward viewpoint works here. It seem like you want a dissonance between her relatively calm exterior and the rage of her internal struggle, and a calm camera accentuates that conflict. Then again, gratuitous and self-conscious cinematography is a pet peeve of mine, so take my comment with a grain of salt. This page also reminds me of the movie "Being John Malkovich". I hope they don't sue you :)

Good facial expressions :) I don't feel like you need that many different camera angle shots so long as there's a variation in expressions and body language.
