Eli, you bahstahd!! Again, I've known people that have done (and do) awful things, but claim they can't stop themselves even if they wanted to. It's a common copout in our current no-personal-responsibility world!! Pedophiles apply!!
To me, it only really makes sense for Kimber Lee to be willing to challenge Eli one-on-one because she came to realize she had a good chance of beating him - a good enough chance that the other options could be put aside. She knows she contains the core of the Godstrain, that everyone else is just peripheries, and if she puts her mind to her, she can curbstomp them!! Nothing quite puts your mind to it like a readiness and willingness to die!!
The nature of the curbstomp!! Where'd all that lightning come from?!! An Asspull power?! Well, if anyone recalls several chapters back, Socorro demonstrates the ability to manipulate electrical currents in her body. Kimber Lee may not think of it first (she's just now getting her head on straight) but if anyone else manifest a particular Godstrain ability, she can do it too… up to 11!!!
Truly, there's been lightning-like Godstrain manifestations throughout this story!!!
So, was Kimber Lee's scratch and mind-plant strategy a total waste? Was it even necessary!! Well, she really would have liked Eli to give up, without it coming down to this, but… he didn't!! Still, the emotion thingy might not be a complete waste - we'll see next page!! ;)

He's a sociopath, and empathy does tend to be kind of lost on them - although they can show a remarkable degree of self-control when it comes to manipulating others. I don't know if godstrain-electric shock treatment does the trick either, since he'd need some kind of psychic life to get the message... But this said, he really had it coming. Frizzled like a fritter - serves him right!

You're right - it's almost frightening how charming and friendly sociopaths can appear when trying to get what they want from someone!! And then get downright vicious when the time comes!! We'll find out how well the shock therapy worked next page!! Frizzled like a fritter lol!!

Good! finally, an attack that will put him to sleep for a long time. When Kimber Lee gave him a last chance I've expected that reaction from Eli (BTW, that ripping suit panel is so good :D), but I didn't expected that counter attack! The Godstrain is such an amazing power!
