If the mafia then proceed to kill him they have just given away that he was the mole and proved everything he said true.

I gotta admit the mole does seem a little over powered.I mean there should be some sort of limiting factor.
(minor note: why doesn't anyone tell my what they think of my attack of inspiration.do they not have an opinion.I want to know if its a good idea or not.)

What if they didn't kill him? How could you be sure that the person spouting all this information is the mole?

Besides, in the last game, didn't I say that I knew 100% that skoolmunkee was part of the mafia, yet no one believed me anyway?

I personally think the clues that pointed to Odysseus were a little too blatant.

Not really. I was the only townie to spot that one. I was the only one to make any real connection with the clues that weren't guesses. Of course you mafia guys thought they were obvious: you knew who'd done it so the clues looked obvious to you because you could automatically make the connections.

But even with me seeing them you wouldn't BELIEVE the amount of convincing I had to do to get people to vote for my ideas. :(

I was going to play again. But this version looks a bit complicated to me.
…This time I wanted to just cruse and not do anything except vote and maybe get killed …Buuut it looks like it'll be confusing now.

Humorman, yes but in this new game we will KNOW the mole exists.
So once a guy says “I am the mole” he must either be a mafia trying to distract us or the real mole.
Either way we basically know way too much information for almost no work.

Waff, your implacable man is a it too overpowered in my opinion… besides, with so many killers already, I think there'd be a bit of an overload. I think your Implacable Man idea would work better in a limited scenario, like the last game. We could have had him instead of the vigilante or the serial killer… -neither of which did anything last game!

You are right, I guess. But I didn't understand the Pigs to Men part until the second set of clues came out. Ochi said that in just reading the thread, she was suprised that anyone trusted Skool.

All the people with roles kept dying. Didn't take an idiot to know that there was a leak somewhere.

Funnily enough the mafia were totally lucky in the detective and bodyguard being killed right away (everyone knew los was the vig of course). It just made things look bad for Ozone. :]

Also it's the uncertainty and bit of confusion that make the game fun :] I don't see how having the game be a bit more complicated is much of a downside.

More questions in regard to the mole:

Is the mole actually forbidden from announcing he's the mole or the identities of the mafioso? If not, then his first post could very well be “Hi. I'm the mole. A, B, C, D, and E are the mafia.” Now, mafia can't target their own directly, only they could campaign for him to be lynched. However, if ABC and D are the only people calling for him to be lynched they're verifying his accusations.

Now, I understand he's a mole and not a martyr, and he wants to live to see the game ended, so if he's willing to take one for the team, the team would win. It just seems like a kind of red button kinda thing that just ends everything too easily.

Or is the mole a compound member, as in having two parts to play? That then would also be kind of counter productive, because lets say the vigilante is the mole. He would literally eat them alive from the inside out without the need for anyone else to participate.

Now let's say he is forbidden, and he PQ's everyone and tells them anyways. Who would report him?

I'm just throwing out all these questions because I don't understand what restrictions he has or what role he actually plays.

You cant have a player with the power to destroy the game and rely on that players honesty to keep them from doing it.
The mole either has to do nothing (and then, what is the point of his presence) or hewill destroy the game.

Skool's right though. Spang was an accident and Leader told everyone who he was. Korosu had no role…
So after that it was just as likely to be ordinarry luck that gave the mafia Skulbie, or me being suspicious ;)

Update

Due to public outcry, the mole-role will be removed from play this game. However, it might make an appearance as a random role (but probably not this time).

The mole can actually do some pretty interesting things in livening up the game, but since pretty much everyone here has the same mentality about using the mole, it'll probably just give the game away.



Anyways, we need only 5 more people to officially start this game. If we can get those people in the next 2 or 3 hours, I can start the game today. Otherwise, I'll wait until tomorrow or whenever those spots are filled.

Actually. Skullbie stated that she trusted you. By logic it would suggest that you knew what her role was. And the only way you could be sure is if BK told you. I had a hunch that she had a role and I was leaning towards bodyguard. I kept a chart of everybody and the possible roles.

Also, I would rather hold off the play until a full day (that and I will have to leave for a few hours in a few minutes.)
