Tupapayon: I imagine that varies from person to person but in Lucy's and Nikki's case I'd say a good measure of both. I'm sure Nikki feels both sexually attracted to Sarah as well as really liking her as a person but I tend to show her as being just as close to Nikki but without having the sexual attraction. I'm still working on Lucy ;)

Kim: That's a lovely viewpoint and I've heard similar lines from others so I think that probably guided me a lot in thinking of Lucy's angle. And yea as I said to Bear I did feel it was important not to dwell on Nikki's negative attitude; she's always been well liked in the past and it would be a shame to make her too stongly biased now. As for Lucy, I've tried to avoid a lot of the stuff I covered with Sarah and Janey when they were first dating but if new ideas come that seem fun to do then it's nice to include them, but yea being as it took almost 100 pages to bring them this close I felt there had to be plenty of Lucy time from now on! lol And apologies for sounding so technical with the 'four panel' remark, it's simply that I've nearly always worked to a very rigid six panel page ( I even have the borders printed ready! lol) so I merely meant that in my factory this one panel is taking the space of what would normally have been taken by four panels.

Bear: I guess it was knowing the page would only take me half as long to do that made me feel naughty! :) And yea I like to keep the story moving anyway but I was aware Nikki was treading on thin ice so it was nice to show a more thoughtful side showing through as soon as possible.

Having read more on Angelina (and other bisexuals) I can see how it can seem a bit condescending to say 'I just love people - doesn't matter if they're male or female...' It does sorta imply that completely gay or straight people are being close-minded for not giving the 'other side' a chance... Oh well... we're never too old to see things in new ways - Thanks Tess :)

@KimLuster, I don't think Lucy's saying what Angelina Jolie said at all. What Angelina Jolie said was very insulting, it implies gay and straight people just aren't open minded enough, and if they just freed their mind and "didn't see a man or woman" they'd totally be the better for it. And frankly, I've had enough people in my life telling me if it just tried a little harder to like guys, I could. Being bi isn't an altruistic choice, it's an orientation. And Lucy is just trying to say she isn't driven by mindless sexual desire.

Dark'/ Kim Not quite - in this case, since Sky' normally does 6 panels per page, the "normal four" would be what the one big one _would_ be, to make up 6. "Normal" comics ? Often they are 9 ppp, but they can be anything really - even back in the 60s, Marvel/DC would break away from the format for specific pages/effects.

Dear Sky, Its nice to see Nikki and Lucy have such a heart to heart talk about the problems facing people who have differant life styles. I can understand how identifying female may not be enough to be accepted by many gay women. Lucy and Nikki hooking up? If I remember correctly Sarah went out of her way to meet Lucy. tommym

Angelina Jolie said something along the lines of She didn't fall in love with a Man or a Woman; she falls in love with a person. It's a refreshing mature way of thinking... I'm also glad you jumped straight into this. In fact everything has moved pretty fast with Lucy since they've been together (perhaps to make up for the fact you agonizingly kept us from her for a year lol). So... when are they gonna 'do it'? haha.... btw, the art is especially gorgeous on this page, esp. that last panel (those cushion patterns...).

Nah, not "cheating" at all ! I like to mix up my stuff - particularly with B.E. - you've seen it ! - it's all over the place panel-wise, with size/ shape/ number of panels. Whatever you feel works ! ...this does, nicely. I'm glad you went straight to this scenario, after last week's, too, btw.

Sky.. this page truly touched my heart as I can identify with both Nikki and Lucy. Thankyou for such a wonderful comic filled with such wonderful characters.
