I've always felt different wealth classes produce eccentricities because we just don't get each other! I have a hard time knowing what it's like for families that worry whether they're gonna eat the next day. Likewise, families that are not the least bit concerned about power and utility bills, that don't have to keep track of their bank balance to make sure they don't overspend - I don't comprehend them either. It's like, once we have a certain 'need level' taken care of, we worry about the next level. Rich People start to worry about stuff that seems trivial to us. In a way, it resembles Maslow's Hierarchy of needs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow%27s_hierarchy_of_needs)!

Kim: I'm not sure if it's just my own interpretation or not but I do tend to observe wealth as bringing it's own particular baggage that less well off people might never encounter. One is snobbery and the attitude that they are so much richer because they are better in some way than poorer people, another is the idea that their own children should not take money for granted and earn their own way in life. I can easily imagine these attitudes causing friction and resentment and of course over here we have a class system too which probably puts Lucy's family at the top of the middle class but beneath the upper class who are the titled people who could just as easily look down on them because of their 'common touch' or lack of breeding! I've tried to make her parents as normal as possible though as I find that more interesting.

I actually used Ray Winston as a role model (not that he looks anything like him!) so it's his accent I hear when writing his lines........ Hi guys, Wonderful comments thankyou but I really don't want to respond to specifically as it might ruin the reading of the upcoming pages. As for the nameplate, I had imagined it to be china which was a very popular thing in my childhood but I never mentioned it to Becky so I can see she naturally assumed this house was a lavish house all round. I do now think it adds to the intrigue of the room. ;)

That bed is GORGEOUS!! Wonderful page all around! Very well done! And now I really, really wanna see what's in Lucy's room! Nice ! Must've been fun drawing the 4-poster room.
