Bear: Thanks for your input. I did have the old style mini for many years back in my twenties but I never drove it into a pond so I had to try and guess how bad the level would have to be. I know the floor was low though as I drove down unmade roads a few times and could hear the bumps scraping against the underneath!

DV: That's an interesting point lol I had intended to put the water level higher but it is definitely a few inches up the door at the very least. I had a lovely ref from a bit of news footage which I used as my guide and all I could think was that it must take time for the water to leak through a closed door so maybe it feels wrong to just open the door and let the water flood in. Either way I did love the pose so I was determined to use it.lol

....also, the original minis only had sliding windows, so she wouldn't have been able to do that ! ( Only Australian-export ones had wind-open windows, for years ). If the door seals were good, climbing out would stop water getting in. However, I doubt any BMC car was that good ! B-)

Dark' - NO ! Minis are SO low. It's half-way up the wheels, which is way above sill level. Trust me - I'm a big (ex) Welsh bloke who squeezed into a few minis ( including a 'chopped' one! ), during my early surfing days in the old country ! B-)

Fred- Sarah isn't that sort of girl to use saltier language :p ... In cases where you can't tell how deep the puddle is flooding the road, look to the sides and see if you can tell if there is a dip in the fields or whatever is on the side (specially in the country), you can just make out the dip in the field on the left
