I've Googled around to see what the chances of survival are and the general impression is that if the water is over halfway up the wheels it's not good, and if it's as high as the dashboard then it's an instant write off, plus trying to start a flooded car is also an instant no-no so it doesn't look good.

Nice to see that, about selecting actors, Sare'. I went a but more obscure, some time after kicking off B.E., when I found a 'young lady' with her own web site ( nudge, nudge B-) ) to use for Leslie ...at least for the face. Some bodies I use other pix for the poses. Nudes are good, you can always put clothes on them, (he says) B-)

DV and Bear: I use quite few celebs as references now as it helps me keep a grip on their looks. When I first introduced some of the sideline characters like May and Ryan I just went with how I felt at the time but found later on their looks were inconsistent. I'd already used a few random refs of Ellen Page for Geraldine as she looked just as I'd always imagined her so I decided to use set actors more often. I don't fight with the art for accuracy though, I just like to have something to help me keep the look fairly consistent so that next time this lady pops up I have something more solid to work with. I used Meryl Streep as Mrs Cranberry too btw but I don't think anyone would guess! lol

Thought Ms Rutherford had been Miss Marple, but the face you used in the last panel reminds me of another great English lady, believe she is still around (just can't recall her name right now, other than not being Dame Judy Dench :()

Bear: Beetles are true survivors aren't they! I always loved that joke in 'The Sleeper' where Woody Allen finds a Beetle that's been abandoned for hundreds of years and it starts first time. Not so sure about minis though! I love true ghost stories too and that one about the dog is a great one!

How about ghost dogs then ? I had a mate with 2 dogs. One used to run up his back steps and jump on the screen. Funny little thing. Then it died. Several weeks later, it was 'back' jumping on the screen (invisibly) every so often...the other dog didn't bark B-)

Shivers, hair on neck,. etc. ! B-) ...as for survival, I guess it depends on make of car and where you live. One of my Welsh mates had a beetle that went under (totally!) in the '74 floods, here in Queensland...when it subsided, days later, they pushed it out into the road, opened the doors to let the water poor out, dried it out for 2 days in the hot sun...and it started after a few turns !
