SS5 151 A disturbing conversation
skyangel on June 11, 2016
The story so far: Sarah has been spending the weekend at Carlingford, her girlfriend Lucy's family home, but she's also been plagued by strange dreams about the life of Laura, a previous partner of Lucy's who died there. Until now she's been convinced that it was Laura's spirit that was restless.
Sarah certainly has a lot to think about now! The old lady might just be a local crank or she may truly know the truth, it's up to Sarah to decide how much she intends to believe.
Next week, Lucy's parents return home and Sarah decides to share this event. Find out how they respond next week. ;)
Have a nice week :)

Fred: My script for this page felt like two heads having a conversation but a long shot always helps to make the page more interesting so I already had a couple of those in mind. I then thought about having the crow fly across one panel which led to the idea of having it looks as if it were also part of several other panels too. I finally decided to let the crow dominate and see what I could fit around it. I was tempted to have the dog barking but I decided not to in the end. She will btw! :)

DV: Best I can come up with is can-new-don but said quickly with only one 'n'. It is an actual place if you want to Google it.

Phantom: Things get back to normal for a while. :)

Kim: You're absolutely right. Much as I'd love to reply to that in more detail it would ruin future reading but Laura's story is far more complex than Sarah ever realised.

Bear: The crow ate him! ;)

Wow! What a page. I love that the dog is looking at Big Mr. Scary Crow in panel 3. I don't know what you call that technique other than terrific composition. And yes Sarah you're interested! See the old man tout de suite!

How do you pronounce 'Canewdon'? o_O
Phantomduck at 9:42AM, June 11, 2016
It only gets crazier from here.

Magnificent!! That crow - Wow!!! How it dominates the page!! Nothing subtle about this ominous foreshadowing!! :D I, for one, am looking forward to meeting this 'Authority on Local Legends'! And I find it somewhat relieving that all the 'strangeness' may predate Lucy and Laura! Cuz it suggest that it's not all on Lucy for being a Whacked-out Nexus of Weirdness... Which means there's more hope for them... which means... I think I'll just let the story tell me haha!!
