So that is the first chapter done. Every chapter will be six pages, the reasons are two fold.
First it helps me keep things fairly concise.
Second this will have a number of characters in completely different parts of the galaxy telling mostly seperate stories, with short chapters you won't be too long getting back to others.
@Jamie, the body armour is designed for the aquatic nature of the planet an has safety features in built, I considered having it explained on the page but it felt too awkward. maybe i should have regardless.

The six page per character/chapter structure strikes me as a VERY smart way to do it.
